| The song "I'm a Beliver" is getting quite a bit of airplay. As far as
I can tell there are few if any religious overtones in the lyrics. I
really like the intro, but the majority of the song is a little
"pop"ish for me.
Kind of a good sound. I heard another song by them on the radio coming
to work this morning and thought the guitar sounded rather Van
Halenish.

I seem to recall possibly reading that this is a band made up of people
from other big time bands???? Could this be possible or does it sound
way off base. I do like the tune "I'm a Beliver"
Does anybody know the names of the guys in the band?
And some more inputs on the album would be much appreciated.

| I've listened to the CD several times, and I also agree with -1, it's very close
to Foreigner (the voice). It's also close to Magnum (for the guitar IMO).
The overall stuff is pretty good to me.

These guys are Christians, but they are trying to break away from the
stereotypes and labels by hitting the mainstream.
The Huff guys are brothers. Dann Huff (guitar) is/was probably the
most recorded studio guitarist in Christian rock. He's played on the
last 5 Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith albums. So has Mike
Brignardello.
I hope they continue to do well. Christian rockers have been a secret
too long.

guys are doing well. Just good old rock/pop love songs without the
Christian message that I've heard from these guys for years.
Dann Huff is a KILLER guitar player and can sing too! GIANT was one of
the evening acts during NAMM this year. Dann Huff is a big Mesa/Boogie
& Zion Guitars user/endorser.

129.21 | Great ballad: See you in my dreams | KETJE::VLASIU | Organizing snail-fights | Mon Oct 01 1990 06:18 | 12 |
| I listened "Last of the runaways" this weekend. The guitar/vocalist is fine
and all the sound of the band too. But they are too pop for me, even if I
like Foreigner to which Giant is quite close. Giant should be really excellent
if they let aside the commercial approach (they are enough good without trying
to force).
Some of the songs have great intro's and after go into banality.
Last but not least, this album contains a great ballad "See you in my dreams"
which compares to the best ballads from Foreigner (and it sounds very alike).
Personally I think I'll not keep the CD but this is because it's not my kind
of music I'm actually searching.

Burning solo, but who cares, 'cause the song around it was junk.

| I just flipped through the directory and did not notice anything
by a band called GIANT. Has anyone heard of this band ? or is it
just a song (heavy metal). I was at a club a few years ago watching
the entertainment if you know what I mean and I asked the Features
bouncer who sang the song, and with the noise level, it sounded like
he said the band was GIANT and they were new. I have been to our local music
stores here in Canada and they have no listing of band or song - Giant.
Maybe this is a U.S band that has not yet hit the bigtime ? and
that's why I can't find anything north of the border.
Can anyone help.

this note is dedicated to, since I would classify this band
as having a clean/processed sound.
