167.0. "Symphonic Slam" by KETJE::VLASIU (Try with a bigger hammer) Fri Nov 24 1989 07:55
Hello,
In 1976 or 77 a canadian band called Symphonic Slam recorded a LP with
the same name. It was some sort of "symphonic" heavy rock. They were 3
including guitars, keybords and drums (no explicit bass player). They
used for the first time 6 sinthesizers linked to the guitar and this
gave an amazing orchestral effect to their music. About music, the LP
contained few tracks very impressive and not similar to any other
group. The vocals were ok but the instrumentals great. I've never heard
since about them, nor similar music. If someone knows about them and
the existance of their LP on CD, or other information, this note is a
good place to write it.
In any case they deserve an audition at least for the originality.
(The LP contains also some tracks less impressive but good).
