733.0. "Guiffria" by HDSRUS::BJUBINVILLE () Mon Nov 06 1989 04:27

Does anyone out there in Metal Land know what ever happened
to the band Giufffrea (sp.?). I have their album that is self titled
and it came out 3-5 years ago, that long already?? I called up Keg
Hill at WAAF around 3:00am today and her couldn't come up with it.
Their song they played alot was "Call To Your Heart". Anybody
    know???

I *think* this is what happened to them:

Craig Goldie (guitar) joined Dio for a while, I think he was on
    Dio's last album "Dream Evil".

**** Guiffria formed House Of Lords ....

Like I said, I think this is what happened after the break-up.
But it's been a long night and I might have them confused with XXX
    XXXXXX ......

Greg Giuffria used to be in a band called Angel ( I'll double
check). He did have another semi-hit on FM radio. I'll try to
dig up the one album I have.

Yeah, he was in Angel. They had a bunch of albums released in the 70s,
including 'White Hot' (which had a decent cover of the Rascals' "Ain't Gonna
Eat Out My Heart Anymore") and 'On Heaven As It Is On Earth' (which contained
their small hit "The Winter Song").

Guiffria then put out two solo albums. The first one had a black cover with
silver writing, and I believe it was just entitled 'Guiffria'. The second one
had a bluish cover - some sort of drawing that I don't remember. Both had very
minor hits, but that's it.

And, as someone already mentioned, Guiffria joined House of Lords (who
recorded for Gene Simmons record label).
