731.0. "Sword" by RAVEN1::BUTKUS (Now that I've called you all here.) Thu Nov 02 1989 06:46

I would like to know more about a band called SWORD if
anyone other than Scary and I have heard them. How many
albums, you know the whole bit.

I would give the names of the band members but Scary has my
    	 tapes ( hint,hint ) .

They are a k*ckass band kinda reminds me of Priest and a
    	 little bit of Metallica.

I have two of there albums "Metalized" and "Sweet Dreams",I
know they have a vid on MTV called "Trouble is" that kicks
    	*ss.

The best songs from both the abums are " Trouble is", "Sweet
Dreams","Stuck in Rock" and "Stoned Again", then again the
albums are great and highly recomended for your listening
    	 pleasure.

Does anyone know if Sword are still around? Last I heard Mike Plant had
left and they were on the hunt for a new guitarist, but that was over a
    year ago.

I saw them in Edinburgh when they supported Motorhead on the
Rock'n'Roll tour and they were generating a fair bit of interest until
the singer made the BIG mistake of saying:

    "Hello England!"

Not the best thing to say to a Scottish crowd!

This was met with the obligatory growls and the knot of people at the
front dispersing rapidly. Pity, cos they were a good band.
