As I heard it....Someone in the audience threw a bottle on the
stage....which broke and Sebastian just picked up a broken piece
of it and threw back. Dumb move.
I remember a number of concerts where things like bottles and other
"heavy" objects came sailing from the audience onto the stage.
Led Zepplin for one....Bonham got hit off the head and got up and
walked off stage. The same thing happened at a Rush concert.
Geddy finally stopped singing and asked people to stop throwing
things.
What happened to the security....when I went to see the Crue...they
just about stripped searched me....and I don't look like your basic

That also happened at a Journey concert. Someone
threw a bottle and hit Neil Schon in the head.
He was bleeding pretty good from the gash on his
forehead. Steve Perry was pretty p$$ed about it
too, but at least he didn't throw it back at the
crowd.
Makes you want to take the person that threw it
and run `em through a meat grinder.
Seb still shouldn't have thrown it back, since
his chances of hitting the person that originally
threw it were infinite ! Does this guy think at
all ?
Reminds me of a short clip I saw in a RIP mag, I

| IMO Seb probably did not drink the beer or whatever was in the
bottle... All the shows I have worked the road crew sets the drinks up
either off stage or onstage. Bottled beer is poured into drinking cups
if they happen to drink something that night. Most bands only use
alcohol onstage as a prop. Most if not all cups are filled with water.
I hardly doubt Seb brought the bottle up onstage. There are many bottles
after a show on the ground in front of the stage brought in by the
crowd.
Again just MHO...

Anyways, this guy in the front row reaches out and yanks Joe's leg out

stands up, and proceeded to wing his black Les Paul Custom over the
guy's head!! Security dragged the guy outta the arena, with everyone
kicking him as they dragged him down the aisle!

If you were to look at the many publicized cases against famous/rich

are made examples of, and got harsher sentences than non-celebs,
because they are so high profile. I don't agree with you at all.
NOW... you want to talk about people getting off easy because

| >Okay, Vince is a jerk?
I always thought he was a jerk, regardless of whatever happened with
his trial and all that. The reply I was responding to basically said
"Nobody thought Vince was a jerk for maliciously throwing stuff into
the crowd at a show". I consider that sort of action inappropriate for
*any* performer. Perhaps his personal life is different, I don't know
him personally. His personal life is none of my business.
>Would you have told the court "no no no, have no mercy on me, don't
>let me get out of this for a measly million and a half dollars, I
>don't deserve that, just throw me in jail for 15-20 years!"
Is that a direct quote? Quite honestly, I never heard any of the
details of his trial.
I just know that he was convicted of felony drunk driving and
manslaughter and spent a maximum of a few months in jail. How long
would you be in jail if you killed someone while driving intoxicated?
> If you were to look at the many publicized cases against famous/rich

>are made examples of, and got harsher sentences than non-celebs,
>because they are so high profile. I don't agree with you at all.
I have never heard of a major celebrity receiving a long term jail
sentence even though they might have performed some crime which anyone
else would have gotten at least 3-5 years for. Drug busts happen quite
often to people in the music industry (probably because the practically
advertize their heavy use of them) and they get off by playing a
charity show or with a fine. Hardly what I'd call a harsh sentence.
Maybe a couple of examples of these abnormally harsh sentences would
clarify this situation for me.

justice if they win. The whole case seems to be based on an assumption
that music was at fault. if I have facts strait the kid was either

UK Death Metal band Carcass are at the centre of a bizarre instance of
graverobbery in Atlanta, Georgia.
Three men, Scott robert (20, Sidney Harrison Tullis (19) and Rober
Frank Simmons (22), have been charged with felony offences of
'vandalism of a place of worship' and 'maliscious removal of the
contents of a grave' following an incident at Luxomni Cemetery, Lilburn
in Atlanta.
The men allegedly celebrated Allen's birthday by drinking beer and
listening to Liverpool based Carcass' "Symphonies of Sickness" opus.
On hearing the track "Exhume to consume", the three allegedly adjourned
to the cemetery for what Allen described as 'some spooks and some
laughs'.
Allen told the Atlanta Constitution newspaper: Sid started digging upa
grave. I said I didn't want anything to do with it, but they started
threatening me and my girlfriend and they had shovels in their hands.
I was in a bad spot. I didn't know whether to run for it because my
girlfriend might get hurt, so I just sat down."
The grave the men disturbed belonged to Nola Mae K McCart who died in
1987 aged 69.
Allen was freed on a $2,100 bail bond, while Simmons and Tullis were
still being held by police pending receipt of similar bonds.
Allen claimed he would write to the deceased family and apologise, and
continued: My brother died last year, and if it had happened to my
brother, I would have been very upset."
Carcass offered "no comment" on the story, but Steve Martin of the
band's US distributors Important claimed that all members of the band
were vegetarian and that "their extreme lyrics satarise the consumption
of all meat".

Surely the powers that be weren't stupid enough to be putting this
kids face on millions of album covers and in videos without prior
consent via the proper legal documents ... get a grip!!
Sounds like a money scam...

Eugene, Oregon:
A convenience-store clerk who survived a vicious
beating during a 1994 robbery has filed an $11 million
lawsuit alleging that so-called "death metal" music
drove her assailants to violence.
Donna Ream is suing the bands Deicide and Cannibal
Corpse; the bands' record and distribution companies,
including EMI, Virgin Songs Incorporated and Sony Music
Distribution. Ream's lawsuit also names Record Garden,
a Eugene shop where some of the music was purchased.
The lyrics of death metal graphically describe acts of
murder, mutilation and torture. The lawsuit claims the
men who killed Francis Wall and assaulted Ream listened
to the music just before entering the store.
One man is on death row for the murder conviction.

Well, I'm at least glad that defense lawyers are laying off blaming
Twinkies. Don't know what I'd do if they had to pull Twinkies off the
shelves.
;-)
I hope that some day some Heavy Metal band turns around and countersues the
bejeesus off people doing these kind of lawsuits. I think these
people (and people in general) need to have some kind of "risk" to
think about before entering these lawsuits. As far as I'm concerned,
it's harrassment.
I mean, I have sympathy for their loss, but I have to believe that all
they are trying to do is make money off it, not retribution or
correction.
I read about those two kids who shot themselves after listening to
Judas priest and I have only this to say about their parents:
Hannibal Lector... Better parent then these kids had
These folks abused and neglected those kids for years (documented court
evidence) and when they finally couldn't take anymore and decided to
end it all, the parents try to make a quick buck off it by blaming
heavy metal music for the results of the parental attrocities they
committed.
One last word: Sheesh!!!!!!!!

Yeah and if the attackers were black, Hard Core Rap would have been
blammed. Or if they were Rednex...well they wouldn't have been able to
pull it off!
