579.2 | Zebra's good production | RIGEL4::JBONNO | | Wed Jun 28 1989 14:36 | 9 |
| Yea, I was really impressed. The lead singer has a wicked voice.
Last thing I heard about them was that Atlantic dropped them and
now they don't have a recording contract. What a shame!! And they
continue to produce garbage like Tiffany. What is this world coming
to?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

P.S. I don't know what label Tiffany is on. Sorry if I offended
any Tiffany fans.

Yeah, I love the lead singer's voice ... he's got VERY good
range.
Check out "Tell Me What You Want" for a sampling of going
from low to ultra-high in a matter of a verse ... also
"Who's Behind the Door" from the same album (whichever
one that is).
I bought "3-V" out of a bargain bin somewhere (on tape)
but I wasn't impressed ... although after being reminded of
it I'll give it another chance.

579.6 | Buy their first album!! | RIGEL4::JBONNO | | Wed Jun 28 1989 15:15 | 9 |
| re .3
"Tell Me What You Want" and "Who's Behind the Door" are both off
of their first album, entitled " Zebra". It is, without a doubt, their
best album. 3.V is a bit more progressive with keyboards and stuff
like that. I STRONGLY recommend you getting their first album.
I am sure you will be able to find it in a sale bin. It is worth
every penny you spend, which I am sure won't be much.

579.7 | 'No Telling Lies' is also good! | HAZEL::STARR | What do ya do when you get lonely...? | Wed Jun 28 1989 15:52 | 10 |
| I also like their second album! Some of the songs are there are as good as the
ones on the first. "Bears" is a lot like "Who's Behind The Door". "Wait
Until the Summer's Gone" and "No Tellin' Lies" are rockers! And "Lullaby" is
my favorite song from them - a real sad, emotional ballad about the death
of John Lennon.
I would also suggest you avoid the third album, which isn't nearly as good as
the first two.....

You guys just reminded me that I even had this album (first one)!!
I guess I'll go home and listen to it, seeing as it hasn't touched
my turntable in about 3 years. I remember "Who's Behind The Door"
getting a fairly substantial amount of airplay at one time. I think
their album debuted at the same time VanDenberg's first one did (or
was that Night Ranger?) Eh, they're all doing about the same nowadays,
anyway.

I've seen these guys 4 or 5 times, and they are
even better live than they are on memorex. The
drummer looks like he's getting up there in
years, but the guy still has great stamina and
jams to the max. He used to have this ballzy
Sonor set with a Sonor drum rack, about 13 pieces
I believe. The last few times I've seen him
though, he's been playing Simmons. Wonder what
happened to the Sonor. That set was beautiful.
It made Nikko's look like something you might
find somewhere in the middle of the Everglades.
Well, maybe not *THAT* bad ...
Anyway, another great 3 man band where everyone
is a multitalanted individual.

579.10 | Zebra or ZZEBRA ? | PEKING::GERRYT | | Thu Jan 04 1990 09:39 | 7 |
| ZZEBRA were a jazz-rock band in the early/mid 70's.
2 albums as far as I know. ZZebra and Don't Panic.
"Death by Drowning" off Don't Panic will damage your woofers if
played LOUD.
