Not really a discography, but I've heard both
Abagail and Them both of which are excellent
albums, but I like Mercyful Fate a great deal
more. I would suggest either Melissa or Don't
Break the Oath by MF. MF kills KD!

Following on from Tigga's base note....it seems that the case would
have taken two years to come to court and so KD has merely altered
his make-up, under supervision fro Gene Simmons. KD says he laughed
when he first read the letter and thought it was a joke.

I'm not a big King D fan, but back when he was
with Mercyful Fate, he was the gnads! I love MF!
I admit, the satanistic stuff gets a bit droll,
but the music is excellent.
GRANDMA!!!!!!!!

576.13 | The Eye | KETJE::VLASIU | | Fri Sep 13 1991 11:38 | 10 |
| As I listened and enjoyed two years ago Merciful Fate's "Melissa" I listened
this time "The Eye" (1990). tE is a fine album if you suport KD's high voice.
I quite like his singing if he's not forgetting himself in the high range.
But where KD excells for me, it's in the compositions and musical arrangements.
He shows much talent, classical music influences and uses excellent players
(or he drives them very well). The vocal harmonies and choruses, the keyboard
parts and the song structures are very fine.
Interesting music.

Man, I love these guys (looking back through my old replies, I see I
said I loved MF but not really KD. I changed my mind!! :'))
Abagail is one of my favorite songs of all time.

576.17 | And first class keyboards, guitars .. | KETJE::VLASIU | | Mon Sep 16 1991 04:59 | 13 |
| I listened all the weekend "The eye". Excellent stuff. KD does great vocals on
all the songs (although I'm a bit disturbed by some excessive use of high
range - but I like the mid-range and all the choruses also by KD).
KD proves to be not only a fine singer but an excellent keyboard player also.
I wonder if the other keyboard player, Roberto Falcao has some link with the
famous brazilian soccer player (the name seems to be the same).
Many actual HM bands should take example from KD of how using keyboards in HM
rock. KD's (or RF's) keyboard playing continues in the style of Deep Purple,
Uriah Heep and Yes.
All the rest of the album contains first class instrumentals and arrangements.
I'll search for "Them" and the rest of KD's albums.

576.18 | RETURN OF THE VAMPIRE | COMET::JENSENT | | Thu Jul 30 1992 23:51 | 14 |
| King Diamond's Abigail rules. Merciful Fate's Don't Break The Oath
rules.
King Diamond along with Merciful Fate just released a brand new CD
last week titled Merciful Fate Return of the Vampire, I guess it has
a bunch of unreleased KD and MF stuff on it. It jams, you should
definetly check it out if you find it.
Don't much care for the vocals but love the music especially the
guitars.
