547.0. "Sea Hags" by CHEFS::DALLISON (Thats some catch that Katch 22) Wed May 31 1989 09:21

Does anybody know anything about this band ?

They are an LA based outfit with a style very similar to
Guns N' Roses and Faster Pussycat.

I believe they are a five piece band and have a self titled album
out at the moment which sizzles!

I haven't heard anything by the Sea Hags yet, but I have it on
good authority that their album is "DEAD GOOD".

They're supporting the Georgia Satellites at the Town & Country
on the 5th and 6th July, I'll find out if they really are any good
    then.

I just saw them on MTV Heavy 30.... They are not pretty boys....
They play kick AS* Rock and Roll though. I hope to hear more from them,
they are one of the better bands to come out lately.

Way back in .1 I said I'd let you know what I thought of the Sea
Hags when I saw them at the T&C. Well, what can I say apart from

    			I MISSED THEM!

Fate and the Northern Line conspired to get me there just in time
for their last number. It was an encore, it was very good, they
kicked the proverbial part of the anatomy, but how can I judge
them on one song? Looks like I'll have to get hold of the album
    somehow.

    P.S. The Satellites were INCREDIBLE.

Finally gave the Sea Hags album a listen...
    it's GREAT!!!

    	Reminiscent of Faster Pussycat/GnR/Del Fuegos/Ramones

Half Way Valley is an excellent tune... the whole album cooks,
has a very ballsy, distinctive sound... bareboned R&R.
They sound like the perfect opening band for the Georgia Satellites.

/Motorbreath...check it out, I think you'll like it.

Ex Sea Hags bassist, Chris Schlosshardt, has died from a
suspected drug overdose in LA. The Sea Hags sadly split up
last year through arguments between the singer Ron Yokum and
the rest of the band. They only released the one album.

Well worth buying if you haven't already bought it!!

That's a shame. Yeah, pick up the album if you don't have it, it
has a certain mood to it that I really like.

What do you think of this band?
547.11Didn't the singer have real rough voice?COMET::FRISBYAICU..though the hole in my wallMon Oct 12 1992 17:275
Hum.....If my memory serves me correctly(Which it usually doesn't)
I didn't care for the ONE song I heard from them. Why Bucky boy?

I like the Sea Hags, and was wondering if they were your cup of tea?
I think they deserve more attention as a band, but I think that of
Salty Dog, too, and they're pretty much history.

I only heard one song from the Sea Hags..What was the single?
