Didn't someone mention earlier in the Metallica note I believe,
that Metallica wrote that song for their fans?
I think myself that the song "Battery" has many meanings, maybe
its supposed to be that way, so you can get your own interpretation
out of it?
One of my theorys is that its about a person who is like half human,
half man made and he doesn't like it too much...

I sometimes get curious in wondering the true meaning of
some Heavy_Metal songs, Though I know at times the song
can be Taken wrong (Lyrics) wise, or ya really can't un-
derstand what the song means.
Example: can anyone tell me what Kashmir by Zeppelin Means
whats the song about?????

I believe that lyrics are meant to be interpreted by the individual.
What one song says to me, the same song could mean something totally
different to someone else.
I don't think there is a definitive answer here.

If anyone can make out even one fourth of what Plant is singing,
I would imagine that it would be a simple matter to figure out what he is
singing about. This song has to have the most undecipherable (is that a
word?) lyrics of any song since "Wooly Bully". Then again, "Trampled
Under Foot" is not very discernable either. Something about a car would
be my guess, "...Baby let me check your oil, fix your overdrive..."
The way that I understand it, Kashmir is a mythical "Shang-Ra-La",
that the singer has either been to or dreamed about and wishes to return
to. Whether or not it is a dream is what is left to the interpretation
(and state of mind) of the listener.
