| I saw Y&T years ago, backing up the Crue. I never bought any of
their albums, but still think they're a pretty good group. I remember
them playing another killer song in concert, "Lipstick and Leather".
Is this song on the same album as Summertime Girls?
BTW, I remember the group talking about their name. They said they
got it from the Beatles "Yesterday & Today".

| Thank you for starting this topic! I've been a major Y&T fan for
quite a few years. If anyone gets a chance to see them in concert
I would definitely do so. They sound even better live.
"Summertime Girls" is actually on two albums - DOWN FOR THE COUNT
and OPEN FIRE. "Lipstick and Leather" (definitely a killer song)
is on IN ROCK WE TRUST.
They've been around quite a while but have never really gotten the
recognition they deserve; at least on the East Coast. I saw them
once in California and they had a better following.

| Does this band still carry some clout?
Y & T were one of those bands that I got heavily into when they
first attracted UK press attention about 6 or 7 years ago.
(The Rods were another example of Power Melodic Rock of that time..)
Y & T's Earthshaker record does just that....!!
I also bought their "Black Tiger" record (OPEN FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
which had a coupla good tunes.
After that.....well nothin' really, although I did come across a
killer tape of theirs which I came across in an old shoe box thingy.
It was a live set from....I think...(he pauses)...the Reading Festival
about '84. Certainly "Loud an' Proud!"
I'd be interested in a discography and some info on what's currently
happening?

| The last time Y&T played around here was with Motley Crue a few
years ago. The last I've heard from them was just about a year
ago when I was visiting some friends in Los Angeles. I heard an
interview with Dave Meniketti; they were playing someplace around
there the night I left.
I'd be interested in hearing if anyone has heard anything recent
about Y&T. How about you people on the West Coast?

Not many tricks, like dive bombs and hammer-ons, just straight ahead

off of "Contagious" should definitely be put in the HM ballad top

Another one of my favourites is "Hang 'em high" off "Black Tiger".It
is also the starter song on the video that I bought. This just
totally freaked me out as it even better live than on disc. The vid.
gets a bit on the silly side when ROCK the robot off of IRWT comes
on stage.Dave M. then announces that "If you listen to a lot of rock
music you get big balls".About this time the robot deceides to
sratch his nuts and hold up his guitar. But in all seriouseness apart
from the silly robot and Dave Meniketti silly speech, this is a great
video with lots of hard, driving rock'n'roll that guys like me here in
Scotland would love to see; but are currently on nightshift or the
aforementioned band don't come here.

Oh i am sorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry!
the Album is called "10" for their 10th album. In the past 4 years
it seems to be one of their better efforts. IMO it just might be
in close competition to Earthshaker, Black Tiger and Mean Streak.
The first track/video off the album is "Don't be Afraid of the Dark"
At first I thought it was your run of the mill ballad (It it) but
I like it. "City" is a good bluesy tune with some guitar riffs.
But the think I like about Dave Miniketti is his style so if you
all wanna laugh go right ahead I do not care...8*)
I therefore recommend the album when it gets there Staynz.
But it does kick some a$$ on a few cuts.
Buy it!

Y&T has split up....
I ran into Dave Miniketti a few months back and asked him what's next
and he told me a whole lot of nuthing. Actually he's working on a solo
project but that's all he would say. I'll pass when it comes out.

| I hope that they do a "UFO" and re-appear in the next few years. At
least thats what I'm hoping.Next time you see Dave Meniketti, tell him
to get his arse over to the UK,as there is a lot of people(well me)who
would be very glad to see one of his,or Y&T 's shows.

Y & T have an album available in the states called....
"Y & T - Best Of 1981-1985".
It contains 16 tracks (I think ?)
Is this album available in the UK or will I have to import ?

| I think this is the album that has been out for about 2 years. It was
compiled by some Euro-rock magazine and distirbuted on a small scale.I
would have bought it but I have all the albums anyway!!(even when they
were called Yesterday and Today)
