491.0. "Bloodgood - Christian HM" by MERLAN::BLANCHARD (Slowly I turn...) Sat Feb 25 1989 08:12

    (This note is written for a fellow Heavy Metal musician)

   	 Has anyone heard of Bloodgood? This Christian Metal band
    has the best live act of any band out there now.
    	The lead singer was a member of the cast of "Hair" and
    is an incredible live performer. They use choreography in
    their shows that can't be compared to anything out there today.
    	Their show is like a play... with music! If you hear of them
    coming around. Don't miss this one ...It's a must.

    I personally don't care for the singer's voice but the music is
    okay. Too much screamin' and not enough singin' for my taste.

    I got the Bloodgood cd where the cover is black except for a drop of
    blood splattering. Good stuff, and I don't impress easy.

    Bloodgood will be touring Germany this fall with Creed. Creed,
    a German-based metal band that sounds not too unlike a garage version
    of the Scorpions, have just just released its debut album, "Sign of
    Victory" on Pure Metal Records (same label as Whitecross).

    ex-Bloodgood guitarist, David Zaffiro is doing quite well on his own.
    He's currently on the charts with his second release "In Scarlet Storm"
    and is also making a killing as a producer. He has produced or is
    producing for Zion, Holy Soldier, Whitecross, and of course his solo
    efforts.

    Michael Bloodgood and Les Carlsen of Bloodgood have been hosting their
    own Christian radio show called the "Eternal Rock" show on the Z-Rock
    affiliate in Seattle...

    The band's German tour in December went great, which featured sold out
    shows! The band is now in pre-production for a new album.

    Bloodgood is now signed to the newly formed Broken Again label, a
    division of Maranatha! Music, and has an album recorded that's coming
    out in October. David Huff of Giant played drums on the album. They
    will start shooting a video soon and are planning a late fall tour.

    Also, Sanctuary and YWAM are working together to bring the first ever
    Christian arts festival in the Soviet Union. The festival will be at
    Moscow, St. Petersburg, and The Kremlin site from December 29 to
    January 7. They also have full governmental authority to minister
    freely. Tourniquet, Bloodgood, and REZ will also be there. Jim
    LaVerde (Barren Cross) and Guy Ritter (Tourniquet) are writing a "We
    are the World"-type song called "Common Ground" to help raise funds.
    Most of the funds raised will be used to purchase Bibles that will be
    distributed at the festival. If you would like to contribute, write

491.13"BLOODGOOD"SALEM::STIGMon Sep 21 1992 12:405
    Bloodgood is a great cristian rock band. They have the best "live"
    show. They apply a "theartrics" along with there metal sound. Has
    anyone listened or saw them before? I can share some things on them if
    anyone is interested. They also have "live" videos as well as studio
    and live recordings. C'mon let's talk about a very "unique" metal band.
491.14I thought it was very generic..COMET::FRISBYAUncle SaltyMon Sep 21 1992 12:515
    I'm sorry but I bought one of their albums and I hated it.
     It was the one with the black cover and then pools of blood on it.

    I donno, that doesn't sound like the album of theirs I have at all.
    On this one ("All Stand Together"?) the singer sounds a *lot* like
    David Coverdale. In fact, I think the sound is very similar to recent
    Whitesnake. I didn't think they sounded generic at all.

491.21"Les Carlson Great!!"SALEM::STIGSat Sep 26 1992 12:2812
    I personally think the singer is great! You won't appreciate til you
    see them live. They have by far the best show of any rock band and I've
    seen some great ones in my days (The Who, Pink Floyd, Stones etc..).
    When I first seen them on there "Detonation" tour my eyes couldn't
    believe what I was seeing. It was a play with music. They played out
    the death and ressurection of Jesus. I didn't expect to see that in a
    rock show. It totally blew me away!!! That was wen David Zaffiro was in
    the band. The singer is a great actor also. His expressions when he
    sings and acts are incredible. You have to see them. You will get more
    than your moneys worth. Plus...They all talk with you at the end of the
    show. I talked with Michael Bloodgood for about a half hour but most
    people were talking with the singer Les Carlsen...
491.22Live Videos!!SALEM::STIGSat Sep 26 1992 12:312
    Also...Buy the two live videos they have out. You can get them at your
    local christian book/music stores. Then you will see what I mean...
