482.0. "One 4 Tull" by JANUS::BHARRISON (Partly Animal ....) Thu Feb 23 1989 11:28
I feel as though, I must make a reply (then dodge the flames
afterwards).
I tend to agree that the Catergory title itself was a bit wide (I
mean fro Tull to Metallica). So Really there should have been two
awards.
But I do agree with the decision. It's about time this excellent
band were recognised. (And not just for their past achievements
- Good though they were).
Crest of A Nave is an excellent album. It keeps the Tull tradition
of Classic tracks, but breaks new ground as well. (No stagnation
here). Songs Like Budapest and Farm on the Freeway are phenomenal,
the complexity and sublty of both the lyrics and music knock me
out.
So, I'm glad a *good* band won.
And lets have a more realistic category next time, so we don't have
so much of a bottleneck, with everyone whinging that their FAVE
ensemble didn't win.
Brynn - DTN (830) 3747.
