    The Grammys...

They were, well, exactly what I expected. :-( Booooorrring! As
    usual, the same old slop.

I stopped watching after Metallica played (and lost the award).
As someone mentioned, the mix was p*ss poor (esp. at the start of
the song) and the song was greatly appreviated.

I personally thought Kirks playing was off too. He seemed to 'miss' a
little on a lot of the solo parts. I don't mean that he didn't play
the same thing as on the album, I don't care about that (it *is* live),
but he seemed to 'stumble' on some of the notes and generally sounded
    a little sloppy.

I don't mean this as a big cutdown, as I love Kirks playing and the
band overall sounded good (considering the crummy mix). It actually
made me feel good to see him make a couple of mistakes, now I know he's
human. Some of these guys (take Queensryche for instance) seem like
they never make a mistake, no matter how tough the part they're playing
is. These guys *can't* be HUMAN! :-) As a hack guitar player myself,
that troubles me... (spell: makes me feel mega inadequate).

Anyone catch that quick shot of the band, all smiles, when they
announced their nomination, right after they played? Cracked me
up, looked like they were pretty happy. It's a shame they didn't
win, but...did anyone really expect that? (no)
