    I can't completely remember, but my first album was either:
    
    Deep Purple - Made in Japan  or  the old Live REO Speedwagon
    
    I don't remember which was first, they got bought in the same general
    timeframe, sometime late in 1974 (I got a stereo for my 14th birthday
    that year)

    Project.
    
    I do remember dancing around the living room to The Monkees
    Greatest Hits.  To this day I still know all the words.

    The first time I ever got any albums was for Christmas when I got
    my first stereo.  The albums I got were:
    
    Aerosmith-Live Bootleg  Still love this album.
    Kiss-Alive II
    The Gene Simmons and Ace Frehley solo albums-big dissapointment
    even then.
    Foreigner-Double Vision
    The Soundtrack to the movie FM.  Never seen or heard of the movie,
    but the soundtrack had some great tunes.
    
    First metal tape: Black Sabbath-We Sold Our Soul for Rock n' Roll
    I've gone through too many copies of that to remember.

    Very first album ever?  I think it was Shawn Cassidy.  matter of
    fact my first two albums were Shawn Cassidy.  Then came Donna
    Summers or something like that..

    I found a Black Sabbath tape(8 track) on the ditch-bank while
    walking home from school in the 7th grade I don't know which
    one it was but it had "Fairys wear boots" and "Iron man" I
    think it was bootleg cuz it just said Black Sabbath on it..
    
    This turned me on to r&r.... the first tape I bought was
    "Edgar Winter", the one w/Frankenstein(sp?).
    
    Deep Purple "Come taste the wine"
    Everything Aerosmith made, unfortunatly they were all 8track....

    As I said yesterday when I replied in the roster....
    
    My first album was Led Zepplin I , and I remember saving up for
    it for a "long time" (I think it was a couple of weeks), because
    I was 8 years old. I did some cleaning around the neighborhood.
    
    I wore the album out in about a month or two, because it was the
    only one I had. 
    
    The 'Immigrant Song' still reminds me of hot choclate and cookies..
    

    I remember the year (1970), but after 18 years of alcoholic and
    auditory abuse, the brain's not too good at remembering the album
    itself. Anyhow, I had a look through the collection last night,
    and it's got to be one of these:

    The first album I ever bought was Led Zeppelin II.  That was back
    in 1969 or 70.  I was in a boutique near Woodstock, NY (visiting
    my grandparents) -- back when boutiques were REAL -- I must've
    been around 12 years old.  All of a sudden  I hear this song start
    up on the stereo: Da, Da, Da, DaDaDa...the opening line of "Heart-
    breaker".  I just about sh*t my pants!  Hadn't ever heard anything
    so good in all my born days.  I went back and watched the album
    spinning around on the turntable...and then I saw it:  Led Zeppelin
    II!!!  I think I wore out my crappy little system with that one.
    
    A year later I took up guitar, used to try to play along with Page
    Ha!

    The first album I owned was probably "The Worst Of Jefferson Airplane"
    which was given to me along with the Carpenters, "Close To You",
    both old records of my parents.  Also Peter Nero and the soundtrack
    of "A Man And A Woman".  Good grief!
    
    Before I bought my first album, I shoplifted "Madman Across The
    Water" by Elton John, but my mother found out and made me bring
    it back.  I was only 7 years old.  Later that year I bought my first
    album, "Elton John".  
    
    That's kind of embarrassing.

    The first album I ever owned was "Snoopy .vs. the Red Baron" by the
    Royal Guardsmen.  The first single I ever had was "Joy to the World" by

    Attic. Followed closed by Jeff Beck Wired. My parents listened to rock
    so I didn't have to buy much until later in life. As far as the

    raised properly.

    books of bands' back catalogues and what I HAD! to buy, all the bands I 
    wanted to see at Hammersmith, which band logos I'd paint on the back of 
    the denim jacket. Ahh!! The joy of discovery! Twelve years on the whole 
    thing has turned full circle; I rarely buy Metal albums anymore, in fact 
    I've added more ABBA to the collection!

    I actually had the CD about 3 months before I got a CD player.  I had
    it hanging on my bedroom wall with the rest of the Billy Idol Shrine! 
    Actually I still have all his works on CD, cassette AND vinyl.....except
    the last one...GARBAGE!

    		  up like a picture in a frame. It had stuff like Rock
    		  around the Clock, Wipe-Out, Happy Days theme etc....
                  My first real rock-record was Ozzy - Speak of the
    		  Devil, double live record.
    
    First Tape; Motley Crue - Shout at the Devil.
    
    First CD; Motley Crue - Too Fast for Love - This was the FIRST time
    			    I actually got to read the lyrics, cause
    			    they didn't come with the tape/record...

    was the Disney " Sleeping Beauty " soundtrack....my folks used to get
    me stuff like that. :-)
