371.0. "Vice" by BTO::BAGDY_M (25 Shopping days till Christmas !) Wed Nov 30 1988 07:16

Has anyone heard of the band `Vice' ? They're supposedly
based out of Worcester ( or Woosta' for those in Mass. :^)).
They were on a local radio station last night doing an interview
and promo for an up and coming album, and they're also playing
at a couple of the local bars. Club New England - Tuesday and
Wednesday - Bullwinkles - Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

They album name is tentatively `Hot, Just Lookin' at You',
and they played a few tracks off it. Kinda' sound a little
like Dokken and Helix, and in fact, the guitarist made mention
that most of their influences were by Queensrche, Dokken and
Kiss. The album is in the process of being signed to Savage
records out of London, England. Not too bad, loads of harmonies
and keyboards, but definate Dokken influence when the guitar
plays leads. What was it you called `em Buck, Lynch lines ?

Not bad . . although I wouldn't rate them HEAVY METAL, but
there are DEFINATE HM influences. Good harmonies though !

I used to play in a band called Vice in college, so this is the
band we always had fights with over copyrights, etc.

Have fun Matt, don't drink too much!
371.2Another ViceMEMV01::BURKESurf Route 2....Wed Nov 30 1988 09:5418

    Hi,

I believe there was a band called Vice from Connecticut quite a
while ago, it featured guitaris Chris Impelliteri (sp), he now
has a band named after himself, from LA I believe... has anyone
seen them on the Head Bangers' Ball..? (i didn't really like them
    that much)..

Anyway, Vice used to play the Illustrious Mohawk Club in Shirley
Mass before it became a used car sales...

btw:: Chris used to also be in a band called QT Hush which used
to be an AC DC Clone band, but they eventually changed their stuff
to be all different types of cover tunes.. they were pretty fun..does
anyone remember them? They played at the Mohawk also..

oh my, oh my, you never heard of Club NewEngland...re:-2
well, i suppose if you don't live in Vermont then maybe you
    	wouldn't know......it's S.Burlington, Vermont
very big night club with plenty of action(i call it
the meat market) and a good size stage, they've actually have
had some well know bands play their before!
lead singer for the TALKING HEADS (don't know his name)
but i'm drawing a blank on some of the other bands
    		that were there
wait....a few band members of Santana and The Grateful
Dead did a show there too....
there have been better groups there, just not coming
to me right now, oh well, i'll probably go check this
Vice out tonight seeing how it's only 5 MILES down the
road from me, I'll let you guys know what i think of
    		them tommorrow!!!

well, as it turns out you were right, this is the Vice
that you were talking about..... field, i'm sure he was their
drummer, he had his name all over his drum set!!
as far as their music, i only stayed for the first
set but thought that they had a good show and a good R'n'R
sound....talk about Queensryche influence,i guess, they did
one of their own tunes and it had QR all over it.
they also did a couple of VanHAlen covers that sounded
pretty tight and a Dokken number that was good too.

    					definetly worth checking out!!!

Thanks Cameron - Like I said from what I heard on WIZN, they
were R&R with METAL influences - I liked what I heard on the
radio and can't wait till they get that album out !
