I was given the album a while back, but never got around to listening
to it, last night I carfully placed it on my brand new SONY Midi
System......
And promptly took it off after the second track.
Its the classic cock up - the same mistake Kingdom Come made - a
perfectly competant band of musicians, with a age-old, already
been done/finished_with sound.
Real shame.

Now as far as the band itself, well, they're okay. I

Marq or whatever is wicked yucko and phony - and some woman called

They performed okay, but they all have crappy attitudes, big time!
I can't stand that... they still have a long way to go to get everyones

308.24 | Sorry HM'ers, these guys SUCK! | BSS::BLAZEK | Dancing with My Self | Wed Feb 22 1989 13:09 | 34 |
| I saw the Bullet Boys last night in concert. I wasn't impressed
at all, though I think part of that was because they were billed
as playing at 8:00 and didn't come on until nearly midnight. If
you stand around listening to an opening mock rock band followed
(and preceded) by good metal music that you know and love, some-
how you eventually lose your interest in seeing a band that's not
well-known enough to pull stunts like this, you know?
The lead singer tries his damndest to be sexy, and his rotating
hip actions got old REAL quick. If that's his way of appealing
to the females, it ain't working! I heard other females say the
same thing. His voice is good and strong, but the soundman made
them sound as if a good part of the show was a drum solo, and it
was way too loud for a small club.
They seemed to be a bit poser to me, especially the lead singer.
He tried really hard to appear psychotic, and he reminded me way
too much of David Lee Roth whom I do not like. When you see Axl
Rose, you know he's sincere in his psychotic tendencies. When I
saw Mr. Bullet, I felt he was posing his sincerity. The drummer
was excellent, as was the bass player. The other two were gross,
and I don't mean in a cool way. Like irritatingly gross. Like
it was an act. Man, I HATE posers!
As for the music, it was alright. I really was not impressed in
the slightest. In fact, when we saw a bunch of people leaving,
we decided to go also. This was about an hour after the Bullet
Boys came out.
Jesse, were you there last night? I thought I saw someone who
looks a lot like you.

I'm kinda sorry that everyone seems so down on the Bulletboys.
The only reason I despise them is because of their unbelievably
disgusting arrogant attitudes..
but the album is killer!!! In my opinion of course.
Yeah, it sounds a LOT like OLD Van Halen.
Bill Upham tells me that Templeman is the producer of the album.
The reason I like them is just the same as why I worship OLD VH.
It's bluesy, kick-ass rock'n'roll, and the tunes have great hooks.
Who wouldn't like a band like old Van Halen?
What are these other VH "rip-off" bands that Buck was talking about?

| ...interesting little ancedote 'bout these guys which backs up
what most replies to this topic have implied already with regard
to over-inflated egos.
Last week, whilst on vacation in England, we arrived at our hotel
in Chester after a five hour trip from Scotland. Being quite tired
all we could think about was getting our gear unloaded and crashing
out in our room. The site that we witnessed in the main reception
area was one which I'll never forget.
There for all the world to hear and see was this long blonde haired
dude kickin' up merry hell to this old geezer about a car parked
out front and the fact that he "...ain't gonna ride in that f&*kin'
excuse for an automobile!!"
In the background, three more long-haired guys stood, sulking like
scolded brats whilst the fracas raged on....!!
To cut a long story short, the 4 guys were....The Bullet Boys...
the situation in question concerned the fact that they had a day
off from their UK Tour and wanted to travel into Wales for some
sight-seeing, problem was that the car that had been provided
wasn't in the "limo" class - it was just a plain ordinary Renault
5 (smallish but nevertheless not the end-of-the-world at 1 year
old).
This was a respectable hotel - the old guy was taken apart in public
and personally in the 2 days I stayed at that place, I have never
seen so much over-inflated bonces in all my life!!
Shoutin' down a corridor at 2am (their rooms were 20 ft away from
ours)" Hey man, were's the f*&kin' $500 you owe me!?" was just one
other example of their brand of communication and diplomacy and
there was plenty more on offer!
I believe the tour rolls up to Scotland this week - I must confess
to never having heard the band, but if this is the way they see
themselves then I'm glad :-
o That I will not be in Edinburgh this week.
o I do not have to buy their records and keep them afloat.
Someone at their record company, should teach them how to behave
like responsible adults should!

Well, the single is the best cut on the album. Is it my imagination or
does the bass player tune down to D ?
There are one or two good tracks on it, but its so easy for the rest of
the rubbish to cloud your judgment. The thing that really bugs me is
Mark's constant screaming-out-of-tune-voice. Also, the guitar player's
tone is way to fuzzy and some of his riffs sound like Extreme
cast-aways (like wow man, if I put in a flattened fifth and maybe add a
major third it'll be a hit dude - barf).
Never mind - 3rd time lucky...

Rob is right. It's short for tetrahydrocannbinol.

chief intoxicant in Marijuana.

But I bet Crazy Al's hitting it on the head with his in-depth look.

Heard through the grapevine that the band are still alive, kicking and
signed to their label with their 3rd album due to be released shortly.
The guitarist has had ALL his barnet cut off into a goofy bowl cut
(sort of mick jagger-ish) and the drummer looks like he's had most of
his cut off too. Their new album is said to be totally different and
will apparantly be a surprise to their fans (in other words, they are
running scared trying to retain their deal, what with the recent grunge
invasion).

Just, read in a magazine, Bullet Boys have changed their name
to Acid Monkey -- They have a new CD coming out soon, apparently
you order it by mail or something like that. They have a
new sound more Grungey Punk. Apparently it will eventually be out
in stores.

Actually, I had my last reply a little messed-up (.90)
They changed their name to Acid Monkey, produced their own CD, but
after doing some small tours, fans said they should change their
name back to the Bullet Boys, which they have done. However the
CD they released, which has been available by mail only, will be
released in stores this month, under the name Acid Monkey. But after
that they will return the name Bullet Boys. Like I stated, its Punkey,
but it has a couple of heavy songs as well. And their version on
American Pie is suppose to be pretty good.
