Impellitteri's new lp, Stand In Line is his second effort. He has
    a 4 song ep out called `Impellitteri' (featuring a no-name lineup).

Graham Bonnett sang for Rainbow (Blackmore) and Alcatrazz (Malmsteen).
Somewhere over the Rainbow was originally covered by Rainbow with
Blackmore at the guit. Also, Since You've Been Gone sounds closer
to the Alcatrazz Cover than the Rainbow original (guitar-wise),
but has a groove unto itself.

Question I have is WHO'S IN IMP's NEW BAND???

I've heard that at one time it was:

    Bonnett
    Impellitteri
    Chuck Wright (Quiet Riot)
    Jimmy Waldo (New England, Alcatrazz)
    and some other noteable drummer.

I've heard of totally different band lineup's since.

    Yo Buck,

I can confirm that Chuck Wright is still on bass, but i can't remember
    the drummers name.

CDs run about $14-$15 US (for a single) when they aren't on sale, Mark.
Sorry to hear they are so high over your way. I think I'd stick to
    albums too.

                I have the 4 song EP. Horrible! That's what's
stopped me from buying the album.

BTW, anybody heard Joey Taffola? It's another
Shrapnel Records mega-guitarist (I think). Is it
                worth buying?

| | Well,

I wouldn't say I rave about Imp. Sometimes his solos get too fast and
out of control for his own good (and everyone elses!). Its good though,
and gets ample airtime in the Buck-n-roll-mobile.

I'm listening to Impellitteri now, and I think he sounds
OK. Seems like a good guitarist.

Graham Bonnet's voice isn't even bothering me too much.

| | While Impellitteri was being discussed in the Satriani note, it made me
think of something.... I know some of you consider Yngwie to be just
speed, and no feeling. And I've read the same comments concerning Vai
    too.

I happen to think they both have tremendous feeling, but Chris
Impellitteri doesnt! To me, he's just flat out speed with no melody or
    feeling to his playing.

Really? the one with the black cover that just says "Impellitteri" on
the front? I like that much better than the album with Graham Bonnett
singing. (I never said I didn't like the band.... just think he's too
    mechanical.)

| | I bought that tape when it first came out 'cause he was supposed to be
some sort of "guitar wonder". Yeah, he was...left me wondering where
he left his taste. Shoulda checked his ego before writing the liner
    notes too...

    It sucked.

        given it away...)
