267.3 | Dokken, Maiden and Boston | MARKER::BUCKLEY | Quayle? Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha | Mon Oct 10 1988 18:19 | 28 |
| Yo, I heard rumors of this on the Monsters tour (see my note for
proof!). The live album due out is a farewell album. Don D. never got
along with Mr Scary. I say its the best thing that could've happened
to them...they really weren't going any place fast, and mr Lynch's
mastery is better off elsewhere IMO.
I'm psyched.
Rumors?
Well, we've all heard that Iron Maiden is taking a breather but
I also heard they may just call it quits after the next lp.
Way back when (1982? -- pre-rockman days regardless) I was hanging out
talking with Tom Scholtz and asked him what his future plans were. He
said "Well, I'm working on this stereo chorus/delay unit that should be
really cool (Re: the rockmodules vision, but the rockman was the
prototype that came out first), and when the 3rd album is done, the
band (Boston) will do a tour, and we'll record shows from that, release
a live album, and call it quits as a band...I'm more into the SR&D
thing anyway"
Well, looks like Tom is right on track, eh?? I don't think at the time
he thought Third Stage would be such a success. With the sold out
tour, I wonder if his plans have changed at this point? Time will
tell!

267.4 | Where have all the good times gone? | CSC32::G_HOUSE | Back in Black | Mon Oct 10 1988 18:26 | 6 |
| That Dokken rumor has been going all through MOR. I was at the
last show on the tour and they (DonD) came out and denied it.
Could be true though. Drag, I really like(ed) their sound.

267.5 | Splits | RDGENG::GREID | | Tue Oct 11 1988 05:37 | 17 |
| How many times have we heard that Dokken are splitting up, this
IMO is another farce.!
Iron Maiden were interviewed recently as in last week and they said
(Steve Harris, Dave Murray) that all the rumors of them splitting
after this tour or after the next album are rubbish. They are taking
an extended break that's all.!!
I have just recently read that Krokus have lost Fernando Von Arb
and now Marc Storace, so it finally has become the Chris Von Rohr
group two seconds after he rejoined. I won't be rushing out to
by Krokus albums, until i have made up my mind about the new singer
cos' no one can replace Marc IMO. I have liked all their recent
albums as much as their old stuff and those idiots in the press
that constantly call Krokus the AC/DC ripoffs can F.O.A.D. IMO.

267.9 | No, not RUSH too..... | EUCLID::OWEN | Hltr Skltr...we're stealin' it back! | Tue Oct 11 1988 09:59 | 9 |
| ahhhhhhhhhh.
Could you imagine a Geddy Lee solo album????? Yuch. It would be
such a shame if they broke up. I believe that they are 3 of the
most talented musicians in the business, ALL IN THE SAME BAND!!!
Please say it ain't so!

$set mode/pessimist
It's not to tough to believe. They've been together for a long
time. I'm sure they have enought money to retire at any time.
I hate to think of it though..

out by Christmas, That's what Geddy said in an interview a few months
ago.

Krokus is nothing without Fernando and Marc ... I kinda hope
it's just a rumor and not fact.
Fernando kicks some serious *ss on his solos - listen to
'Out of Control' off of 'The Blitz' and you'll see what I
mean.

267.16 | Pilson rock !! | RDGENG::GREID | Midnite Maniac | Sat Oct 15 1988 10:02 | 13 |
| This is what i have just read in Kerrang :-
"Current rumour suggests that the new DOKKEN live album entitled
'Beast From The East', will be the bands last. Guitarist George
Lynch,bassist Jeff Pilson and drummer Mick Brown have already
formed a new outfit, LYNCH MOB, and have cut some demo's with
Pilson handling the vocals. Indeed they may bring in a bassist,
freeing Pilson to concentrate on the singing.
Don Dokken looks set to pursue a solo career if the split does
go ahead".

MANOWAR has parted company for reasons of "Musical Incompatability".

267.18 | Dio | RDGENG::GREID | Midnite Maniac | Sat Oct 15 1988 10:26 | 9 |
| Yes it's me for the third time in a row, better have a break in
a minute.
Finally on the Break up side of things Craig Goldie lead/rhythm
guitarist with DIO has split the band with yes you guessed it
those little old 'Musical differences'. I don't know who this
'Musical Differences' band is but they sure have a lot of members.
