254.0. "Armored Saint" by UFORIA::WHIPPLE (DEC/CMS Development) Tue Sep 27 1988 19:54

As a relatively new noter in this conference, I have not yet caught up
with all the old notes (the new note rate is pretty high, though not
necessarily full of significant content, I might add, not that I'm
complaining, but some of us have to wedge some real work in now and
then...), and as such, have not formed a complete picture of the tastes
    profile of the other noters.

Anyway, I have not found any mention of a band called Armored Saint. To
my knowledge (admittedly stale), they have two albums out:
	1. Armored Saint
	2. Delirious Nomad

    What say y'all?

My memory may be wrong, but I think they have an album called "March of the
Saint" that I have. I had tix to see Armored Saint at the Channel a couple
years ago, but the band never showed up (turns out they had problems with
their passports and couldn't get in the country!).

I think they're OK, although not great.

Armored Saint's latest release is called "Raising Fear", and it's
been out for quite a while now. I was supposed to go see them at
Narcissus (Boston) but was sick. A friend told me the show was
awesome. I'm more partial to Delirious Nomad. Great album.

Re: .2 -- I told you my memory was stale (I didn't have my collection
with me at the time). "Raising Fear" -- nice cover graphic --
I think it explains the earthquakes in Los Angeles quite adequately.

I believe they played with Wargasm and Formicide
(my old band) that night. I like AS, but I
actually found them pretty boring . . .

I meant to put this in last week, but I forgot....

The rhythm guitarist (I forget his name) from Amoured Saint died last week
after a long illness (luekemia). Sad to see him go.......

Tell me that you don't mean Dave Prichard, that man's songwriting
was incredible. If it was him it's a shame, God rest his soul

Yep, it was Dave Prichard. I just got their new album, and it says
it's dedicated to the memory of him. And underneath there's an
address to donate to to help lukemia.
