I've seen both `Aldo Nova/Same' and `Subject...Aldo Nova' in
CD in the record shops here in Vermont (USA).
Two more hot tracks from the `Subject' album was `Africa (Primal
Love) and `Hold Back the Night' !
Definately a hot group !

And yes, 'Hold Back the Night' is great too.
If you wanna hear some kick-*ss stuff, listen to 'Fantasy'
and 'Hot Love' from his first album (the CD is on sale for $10
back in Whitinsville, and all this Aldo talk is making me wanna
go buy it!!).

Shawn - Good topic - I've listened to Aldo since the first album,
and have always loved his guitar sound.
The last I heard of him was after the _Twitch_ album - ready for
this - touring as Cyndi Lauper's guitarist. Ugh.

'Fantasy'.

Hmmm......ya sure? I thought Rick Derringer was CL's guitarist? I know
he was when I saw her (yeh, I've actually seen her 5 or 6 times),
and Derringer is also in the live vidoes for the last tour.
I do know that Aldo does a lot of studio work, and I believe he has
been on a couple B.O.C. albums (if I remember correctly, he is on
at least the new one and 'Revolution By Night', where I think he
co-wrote 'Take Me Away' - a killer song!).

I heard this a few years ago on MTV - I made the (I know - dumb
move) assumption that they knew what they were talking about. Could
be they had their guitar heroes screwed up! 8*)
>at least the new one and 'Revolution By Night', where I think he

KILLER is right - I recognized the solo as his immediately!
I didn't know, however, that he co-wrote the song. I wish I'd seen
the B.O.C/Aldo concert - but the one in Cincinnati was canceled
for some forgotten reason!

"Twitch" is a big disappointment. From his debut, which
really cooked, to "Subject", which is one of my favorite
albums of all-time, to this drivel ... which is basically
Top-40. Mostly ballads. Is he selling out, even though
we still don't hear the new stuff on the radio? Only time,
or the next album [if there is one] will tell.
"Twitch" - instrumental
"Tonight [Lift Me Up]" - the best from this album, by far
"Lay Your Love on Me" [not great, but better than most songs
on the album]

Young love (Can't remember - sorry!)
Modern World (Pretty good)
This Ain't Love (Not bad either)
Hey Ronnie (Veronica's Song) (Another ballad - good)
Touch of Madness (Good rocker)
Bright Lights Big City (AWESOME song! I love it!

I picked up "Blood on the Bricks" last week ... so far, I've
listened to it almost twice [I was tired the second time and
didn't quite make it].
Impression: pretty good. An improvement over "Twitch", but
light years away from "Subject". Too many "slow" songs on
this one, compared to the kick-*ss stuff I know he's capable
of.
And Bon Jovi co-wrote 9 out of 10 of the songs. Maybe that's
why it isn't all that great.

Aldo Nova just did a low-dough club show last Tuesday night
in Syracuse, NY. Cost? 95 cents! I checked it out and was fairly
impressed. He primarily did new material from "Blood on the Bricks"
and some of it sounded pretty good to me.
The crowd probably wanted to hear a little more of his older,
more recognizable material. What he did do was:
Monkey on you back
Fantasy (with a slow solo beginning)
Under the Gun
Ball and Chain (which the crowd was shouting for to be
the encore song - and they got it!)
