207.0. "What Metal bands have you seen?" by YODA::COOK (Poor Mike) Tue Aug 23 1988 15:02

There is a note like this in MUSIC, and I thought it would go
    	over well here too.

What Heavy Metal bands have you seen? (just Metal bands, or
    	bands who you consider Metal)

    	I'll start;

    	Saxon
    	Iron Maiden (7 times)
    	Accept (4 times)
    	Motley Crue
        Y&T
        Alice Cooper
        Black Sabbath
        Quiet Riot
    	Ratt (2 times)
        Dokken (3 times)
        Bon Jovi
        Poison
        DLR

I couldn't even begin to list the bands I've
seen, instead I'll list the ones I want to see
                that I haven't.

Queensryche (I managed to miss them every time)
                Stryper
                Wild Dogs
                Slayer
                King Diamond (soon)
Mercyful Fate (wonder how their new singer sounds)

That's about it. Can't think of any others at
                the moment . . .

Shawn, Shawn, Shawn...Can't you be normal and just
    	put "e's" in Motley Crue.

Sorry, Tig - but Mtley Cre just isn't Mtley Cre if it's

Well, Shawn... for your information, your use of the VT200
character set translates the name of the band into "Mvtley Cr|e"
on my PC clone. Therefore, Tig's spelling "Motley Crue" looks
a lot closer to reality than the shit you typed!

GET A GRIP ON YOURSELF, SHAWn, AND START ACTING NORMAL!!

Even if I had a VT100 yours would have been unreadable.
Tig might be one of the underprivileged (such as myself)
who are not blessed with VT220 compatibility... or maybe
she's just lazy... either way, her spelling makes more
sense to more people than yours, so get off her back!

no they were the 3 tours before the new album . I am a big Triumph
fan but the new album really let me down. I dont know why they
didnt tour for this album probably due to the lack of sales.

Do I dare? Mine is microscopic compared to everyone
else's. I could buy a car with the money spent on
    	some of these lists!!
Anyway, I don't get to many concerts but here are
the few (and I mean few) that I've been too. (HM only
    	of course)

    	Bon Jovi
    	Cinderella
    	Whitesnake (2)
    	Great White
    	Motley Crue

See? Told ya. I tried to get to see Def Leppard at Great
Woods but no luck. And I'd like to see Poison but the $$$
    	just aren't there.

BTW-- Shawn, I have a VT340 and can usually use the compose
key to come up with the international symbols, but for some
reason when I'm in NOTES it doesn't work! Any ideas?

Another memorable concert I forgot was Phil Keaggy. I've seen him 3
times and was floored each time. He's one of those few that is
disappointing in the studio and AWESOME live. Must feed off of the
electricity of the audience or something. Tons of cool improvisation
    live!
