I'll start
I think KEEL is a good metal band and I love Ron's four octave(so
he says)screach I saw them at the Paradise and was impressed with
them as a party get the crowd moving and buying drinks band, also
Ron was funny sleasy and just made everyone have a good time but
as far as there music I like
The Right To Rock
It's a jungle out there
Rock n roll animal
sombodys waiting
cherry lane
princess of Illusion
united nations
I said the wrong thing to the right girl
I don't know about musicianship but i like the music they are a
band that should get more recognition than they have.

| Greg - good review. Shows alot of thought. 8^)
Keel is OK - I have 'The Right to Rock' on tape, which
was copied from a friend's record. The only problem is
that 'The Right to Rock' is the only Keel song I know.
Well, take that back - they covered 'Because the Night',
I believe - and that sounded fairly good.
Ron has a good vocal range - has no problem hitting the
high notes.

I used to really like Keel. My favorite albums
were The Final Frontier and Right to Rock (of
course), but the latest was kind of
disappointing. If you want to talk Keel, then
you have to talk Steeler. Now *THAT* was a band!
Yngwie and Ron together. One of my favorite
albums.

199.5 | true story about Ron Keel | HAZEL::STARR | You ain't nothin' but fine, fine, fine! | Tue Aug 16 1988 09:11 | 29 |
| A quick Keel story for you:
A few years ago I was the manager of the Strawberries Records in Boston
(Downtown Crossing). I was asked to run the record store at the annual
rock and roll convention that is held at the Bayside Expo every year by
WBCN.
Anyways, a lot of bands were doing in-store appearances to sign autographs,
and Keel was one of them. The way it worked is this -
a.) the customer would come in and get in line
b.) he would take an album from a pile on the table, and have the
band sign it
c.) then take the album to the register and pay for it
Well, a problem arose when a Keel fan brought in his own album which he
already owned and had it signed. Then after going through the line, the
cashier tried to charge him for it (not really the cashiers fault -
someone should have checked when the kid first came in). Anyways, a big
arguement started between the kid, and my District Manager, who said the
kid was trying to rip off the store.
Suudenly, from behind the table, Ron Keel jumps up, pulls out a $10 bill,
and states: "Any fan of mine is worth $10 to me. *I'll* pay for the
f***ing album!" And he did!
Ever since then I have had a great respect for Ron Keel.

| Wow! That earns my respect too! I think I'll go get some of their
stuff. I like to listen to people that have good attitudes!
In light of this, how many albums do they have and which do you
recommend? I've heard good things about their music before.

Yup, he's one of us Mass people.
Good ole' Shu.
I lied Keel but they should have got rid of Ron Keel and his lousy
screachy voice. Well, then I guess it wouldn't have been Keel
then.

| I've heard the "Final Frontier" and "Keel". Final Frontier was
produced by Gene Simmons (I think). Keel was a really good album. It
was a lot better than the new stuff coming out today. That was from
1987 I think. A definite addition to any hard rock collectors
collection.
It was balsy, and fast paced. A really good album.

| Here's some dirt on Ex-Keel guitarist Marc Ferrari (I hate that name)
After Keel bit the dust, Marc formed his own band, aptly named Ferrari,
with singer Oni Logan. Oni blew him off for the Lynch Mob gig, and
word has it that Marc is now just hanging out at the Whiskey or the
Rainbow, getting drunk and doing nothing! Hey Marc, how bout:
- Changing your name back
- Move back to Boston
- Re-form Last Child
- Play gigs at the Jumbo Lounge!
That's this editor's comments on the situation!

Marc Ferrari found another singer (can't remember his name) and then
formed Crying Shame. That name was found out to be copywrited so the
name was changed to Cold Sweat. They released there debut album about 8
months ago on MCA. Last I heard they split up resently because MCA
dropped them. Their other guitarist (Eric Gamans) used to live in
Bedford NH.
