As far as Kindom Come goes, I think you'll love 'em or hate 'em.
No middle ground. True, they are Zeppelin made over, and they show
their influences WAY too much, but I (for what it's worth) enjoy
the CD a lot, just because.

I don't hate 'em. I despise them for stealing Zep's sound,

Quote from Lenny Wolf (lead vocalist of Kingdom Come) whilst being
interviewed about the KINGDOM/ZEP conflict:
"When somebody knows what they want, people call it
arrogance. I call it insecurity on their part".
Sums the situation up well.
Robert Plant on Coverdale:
"Coverdale?? what a Wa*k*r and I want my money back. And when I see
him I'm gonna get it back".
Why does Plant hold such a grudge against Coverdale?? O.k so Coverdale
dyed his hair blonde. So what???? so did lots of other people too.
Does Plant think he is so good that everybody in the entire flipping
business wants a cut in on his act?? Coverdale apparently throws the
same sort of poses as Plant used to but. cr*p!! Coverdales been
doing those poses of his for ages. Has it taken Plant so long to
notice??? The Voice: I fail to hear ANY similarity between Coverdales
and Plants voice.
Sorry if I've offended any hard-core Zepp fans, I am not questioning
the credibility or the greatness of the band itself, but I feel quite
strong about this one.

| Robert Plant's basic point of view is this:
(paraphrased)
"Hey, it's been done. It's been done as good as it's gonna be done.
Even I can't recreate it (sound, feeling, or whatever), so why
do others try so hard. Why not keep moving forward, instead of
trying to recreate the past."
I tend to agree in principle with what he is saying, but I also
happen to like Whitesnake, and "Get It On" (guilty pleasures!).
So I guess I'm on both sides of the fence.

I don't know... one of the things I liked about Zep was
that no two of their albums sounded the same. They were all
completely original, way ahead of their time, and totally
unpredictable. Anything that sounds like anything Zep ever
did before doesn't sound like Zep for just that reason...
there was no definitive Zep sound... they changed it with
every song.
Mind you, I've got nothing against a band that wants to
pick up where Zep left off, but one that merely copies their
old sounds fills me with inertia.

had an album out a few years back- 'Break Down the Walls' was the
biggest 'hit'. I think the album was called _Burns Like a Star_;my
copy's about 850 miles away or I'd check. ANYWAY, and this is a
well-educated guess, listening to both the Stone Fury and Kingdom
Come albums I'd say that the guitarist and the singer from Stone
Fury formed/joined Kingdom Come. If this is the case and I remember
my guitar player history, the guitarist in question is from Germany
and actually grew up quite ignorant of most of rock music due to
parental influence. Any help on this?

I noticed that George Lynch was curiously absent from the entire
spoken interview with Dokken. They did have some nice footage of
him doing a solo.
Did anyone stick around and watch "'Headbangers' Ball" afterward?
They had Joe Satriani co-hosting on there for about the first hour.
He had a guitar and played a little too. I thought he was pretty
elequent and humourous. The other guy (Adam Curry, I think) kept
cutting him off though (to go to yet another commercial break, or
whatever). I got the impression that Joe would have liked talking

HM radio in the UK is pretty non-existent as well, so I get most

The odd thing is that KC have just announced some headlining dates

Wolf getting a new bunch of musicians together - an ego that big

Copied without permission from Kerrang! Issue #255.
Further to our story in Mayhem last week, Kingdom Come now seem
likely to split up for good after 'several members had gone their
own ways'.
However a spokesman for the band said that some members may work
together again in the future, but not necessarily under the Kingdom
Come moniker.
Unconfirmed reports from the States say that the whole band walked
out of singer Lenny Wolf just two hours before a gig. Earlu news
suggests that the band may reform with another singer although drummer
James Kottak's name has already been linked with former Quiet
Riot/Rough Cutt vocalist Paul Shortino's new outfit, modestly titled
Paul Shortino's Bad Boys.

Look at this theory :

Then

IMO Kingdom Come sounded much better than Bonham. And also how come nobody said

this same voice as Robert Plant and didn't get so much bashing.
Anyway even if you don't like a band for some reason I cannot anderstand you

There, I've said it. I used to like Led Zeppelin, many years ago, in my

Then along came a band which (IMO) distilled all the best bits of

Kingdom Come is a very good band, definetely the suprise act of
the Monstors of Rock. Personally, the only thing that reminds me
of Led Zepplin with them is some of the blues licks in the music
itself, Lenny's voice isn't like Mr. Plant (insert picture of little
man with extremely big head) Bohnam is definetly a Led Zep wanna
be band, not KC and I'm real sorry to hear about the break up.
They probably got tired of the bullsh*t comparison (Steve, hint).
Mr. Ed...KC definetely still rocks on my stereo!

| I'm new to most of the notes conferences that exist, so if some
of my replies seem a little late, my apologies. I just found the
HEAVY_METAL conference and am playing around with my favorite topics.
It's been awhile since anyone has added any new replies in this
conference (prol'y cause Kingdom Come doesn't exist anymore). I
just thought I'd bounce a reply in for old times sake.
Stone Fury released two albums. I can't remember the name of
the second album, but it was a very "mellow", laid-back type of
sound. Since KC became popular, the record company has released
a Best of Stone Fury CD that's worth a listen or two.
Stone Fury released two albums and split up. Kingdom Come released
two albums and split up. Coincidence? The only common denominator
is Lenny Wolf. You figure it out.

| Did the hammer sy when a new lp would be out or are they still just
putting around with new stuff? I can't belive they split in the first
place what a kicking band, managed to catch them in Baltimore at
Hammerjacks w/ Warrant. Talk about two bands trying to out do each
other!! man what a show ...

I got "In Your Face" the other night, and besides "Do You
Like It" the album isn't that great at all.
Some slow stuff, some medium stuff, but not enough to make
me want to listen to it very often.

New Kingdom Come CD "Hands of Time" came out couple of weeks ago. The
only surviving member from the last line-up is our Len.
I like it a lot. It's no more Led Zep derivative than any other modern
"classic rock" type metal. The production is crystal clear and the
songs are melodic and powerful.
Definitely the best KC album so far.

I don't know ... that might be pretty good. Of course, as long
as Blues has some say in the music ... I wouldn't want to hear
Blues playing in the style of Kingdom Come.

Anyone know what Lenny is up to these days ? Having liked KC alot
and loving the two post original KC line up albums, I haven't heard
anything for some time now ( a good year at least). Is he now in
another band or due to release another ?.
