For along time I thought DLR was the best. He has an outstanding
HM voice, he can move on stage, put action into HM, hey, he's got
alot of energy. The guy is a character. As far as ego, if you combine
it with confidence, as DLR shows, you can go to the top.

Of course, there is a body of thought that says when
you're really good it's not called ego... it's called
confidence. Could it be that what appears to us as ego
is really nothing more than DLR saying "Hey, I already
made it to the top... what do I care what you think of
me now?"

Re .0
Billy S. played on the album, but is no touring on the new album.
You also forgot to mention the drummer for his band, Bisset.
I think he is one of the most up and coming, if not there, new
H.M. drummers. His brother is playing base on the tour. I forgot
his first name though..... A little bit of info,

51.5 | Ego vs. Confidence | RAVEN1::JERRYWHITE | | Thu May 19 1988 21:59 | 16 |
| There's a fine line between confidence and ego. Ediie VH is
confident. So are Vai and Lynch. They let the pure talent talk.
To me, it's the one's that have to jump up and down to get noticed
that have the egos ( with prblems to match). I guess Roth's cocky
attitude is what get's him noticed but it's like listening to the
phone ring, and ring, and ring. After you've listened to all the
noise and you finally give him a chance - sorry, nobody home. Ego
is a big part of HM but I think it started out as being confident
in what you were doing because in the early days with all the negative
publicity you HAD to be confident to be taken seriously. To me,
people with the big egos are just lying to their self in hopes that
they and those around them will believe 'em. Sorry Dave, I ain't
buyin' it !!

What about Malmsteen, he's GOTTA have one og the biggest ego's in
HM. The guy is _VERY_ good at what he does, but soon he won't be
able to get his head on stage....
Just an opinion

| I agree about Yngwie. He's one of my favorites but I think his
massive ego is preventing him from putting out a real killer album
His first 3 records (Beyond The Sun, Marching Out, and Trilogy)
were all produced by the man himself. His latest was co-produced
and is quickly becoming my favorite, not including his work with
Alcatrazz.

Yeah, you said it.
"Ritchie Blacmore's Rainbow"
"Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force"
Seems like being a part of the band 'ain't enough anymore, ego-maniacs
wanna own them now.
