10.0. "Album Favorites" by USHS01::DAVIS2 (Reality? Just say NO.) Thu May 05 1988 22:54

While it's hard to believe that any of them will surface
in this conference, the fact remains that there are many people
in the noting community that don't know enough about Metal to tell
the difference between a good album and a dog simply by reading
the song titles. As a favor to them, perhaps those of us who have
a bit more education in the arts could enlighten them by listing
the ones we have enjoyed the most.

    		My Picks:
Ratt - Dancing Undercover (I can't find a bad song on the album)
Ratt - Invasion Of Your Privacy (You're In Love, Lay It Down)
Sammy Hagar - Three Lock Box (Several good songs, others decent)
Def Leppard - Hysteria (Animal, Hysteria)
Whitesnake - Whitesnake (Still Of The Night, Here I Go Again)
Aerosmith - Rocks (Last Child, Walk This Way, etc, etc.)
Pink Floyd - The Wall (Too numerous to mention)
AC/DC - Back In Black (classic metal)

10.5The big '5' ...TIGER::SLABOUNTYA Momentary Lapse of ReasonSat May 07 1988 15:5719

        Some of mine:

Defenders of the Faith - Judas Priest (every song is good)

Out of the Cellar - Ratt (almost every song is good)

Night Songs - Cinderella (almost every song is good)

Tooth and Nail - Dokken (every song is good)

Surfin' With the Alien - Joe Satriani (no need to explain)

Although I don't know if Joe Satriani is considered
Heavy Metal, the guitar portions of the songs are
                Heavy-Metalish enough for me.

                                                        Shawn L.

    	Paul,

Any chance of listing the details for the "Wild On The Run"
LP, I've been trying to find a copy of this on CD for a long time, as I
could only get "Pleasure And Pain" on LP a few years back. Can you post
the distributer, CD or LP order number etc...

    	Thanx,

    	Giles.

Maybe we should have a "Loverboy" vote like the Abba vote.

IMHO they rule. Paul Dean was a great guitar player.

I've always thought "Loverboy" as being kinda like the "radio-ready"
version of Saga. Similar "sound", different compositional orientation.
