1575.0. "Base 230cm..." by CGOOA::OWONG (SKIWI in Canada (VAO)) Sun Feb 09 1997 14:21
No new snow to report, base 230cm.
Yesterday was suppsoed to be sunny but by about 10:30a thcik cloud
covered most of the mountain leading to whiteout conditions in the
alpine and variable elsewhere.
Conditions were good in the alpine (while you could see) and hardpack
elsewhere. From about the Toilet Bowl area down the surface started to
become really slick though there were some good runs to be found. For
example, Tokum was in really good shape because they had done major
grooming the night before. The Dave Murry Downhill lived up to its
name and was very fast, especially the lower portions - I get freaked
out at the speed I get and I'm doing lots of big turns; don't know how the
racers cope since they use far more direct lines.
Owen.
