Anyone been to Utah lately???
Gonna be there in a couple weeks and was wondering what the story is.

109.28 | Last week's conditions sounded great. | R2ME2::SZCZ | | Tue Mar 04 1997 09:32 | 4 |
| Friends of my son from his high school ski team were out at Utah last
week. He came home from school yesterday with tales of their trip.
Sounds great, up to 2 1/2 feet of powder. They skied Solitude, Park
City and Alta I believe.

109.29 | Skiied there 15-feb - 22-feb | RICKS::SAMBERG | | Wed Mar 05 1997 09:43 | 12 |
| Just got back from February break (feb 15-22). Skiied Alta, Solitude,
and Park City. The conditions were superb. We had one day of 15-inches of
new powder, and it snowed a few inches each night. It was tracked powder
and soft bumps, but was cold enough that you could slice right through it.
Alta is my absolute favorite. Solitude has a canyon that's a pain to get
out of once you're down, but the snow in it was deep, deep, deep. Park
City was too ski-area-ish, though conditions were good. Jupiter Bowl has
lots of snow and is the only spot that gives you the flavor of Alta.

i'm wondering, anyone in here do heli skiing or cat skiing
while they were out there? i want to do heli skiing... now
is the time in my life where i can afford it and also physically
do heli skiing. never done it, and i definitely don't wanna
miss doing it before my time. so, any points? cost estimates?

109.31 | $$$$ for the Heli | NQOS01::user3.bqo.dec.com::Roper | | Fri Mar 07 1997 10:44 | 8 |
| There are a few Heli-ski operators out of the wastach front, with prices
running from $400/day up if you want extra runs. There is also a cat operator
over by Park City and they run upwards of $100-150/day.
This past week has been a good week for snow, with more storms predicted for
this weekend and into the first of next week....
