1300.0. "UG12.0 prb with OpenGL on Open3d 4.2" by QCAV01::INETPUNE () Wed May 28 1997 06:54

    Hi !

    A Customer of mine has dec 3000-600 with zlx-e1 (PMAGD-AA).
    He was running unigraphics 11.1 on digital unix 3.2 & open3d 3.4.
    Recently we have upgraded this workstation with digital unix 4.0b
    & Open3d 4.2. This was done for loading unigraphics 12.0.
    Now after upgrading Operating system & unigraphics versions
    we are not able to run Unigraphics with 3d option (i.e using OSF
    OpenGL).
    UG is getting started with 2d option. If we select 3d option in ugmenu
    & apply, it shows eds-unigraphics banner but is unable to open the
    UG main screen.

    All the subsets required for running UG are loaded properly.
    OpenUnigraphics 3d4.2 documentation says it supports PMAGD-AA graphics card.

    Any help in above context is appreciated. Thanks in advance

    regards,
    Hemant Doshi

    Well, are any other OpenGL programs running?

    What's the contents of the server log file?

    Is the Open3D license installed?

1300.2WRKSYS::CHALTASWho asked me, anyway?Wed May 28 1997 09:406
    Other things to check:

    If your run xglinfo, does it list any visuals as supporting GL?
    Have you checked the UG error log (it's in /var/tmp)?

1300.3run the O3D IVP...ALLVAX::DONAHUEThu May 29 1997 15:3420
    Run the Open3D Installation verification program:
    /usr/bin/X11/gl_ivp

    This will verify the Open3D install against your graphics environment.

    Also, check the subset list to see if all the O3D* subsets got loaded
    correctly:
    		setld -i |more
    There is a specific subset for the ZLX-E* cards that needs to be
    loaded. At the end of the O3D* install, the kernel will be rebuilt
    to include the correct entries for Open3D.

    Unigraphics V12 does support the E1 card...so it sounds like there's an
    Open3D installation problem - especially if you were able to run in OGL
    mode while in UG v11.

    Hope this helps,
