I have a PowerStorm 4D40T board installed in an AlphaStation 500, running NT 4.0 with the GSS 4.2 Beta for PowerStorm 4DT (3410288 bytes). The colours of the icons on the task bar are not correct, e.g. the Explorer icon. This problem was also observed on Intel but with the new Intergraph driver for Intel (4.02.00.39) this problem was fixed. Will it be fixed on Alpha? Richard

We've noticed this and had tracked it into (we thought) GDI and thought it was a problem there with our being BGR and NOT RGB. For many (most) things it's right, but for some 4 bit images its wrong. We had thought this to be a Microsoft problem (we are an odd duck at 24 planes and BGR order). However, if Intergraph fixed it, it must be a driver bug. Unfortunately, we no longer get code drops from Intergraph so we'll have to puzzle this out on our own. This won't be in the 4.2 release (that's closed as of friday and written to CD-Rom). We'll look into this again in the next release. Richard could you file a PTT in the WSQAR::GRAPHICS database for this so we don't forget? Clearly nothing above priority 2 as the world is not ending (nor has it ended and this is an ab initio pronblem... the 3.51 driver does it too). Thanks, Keith Comeford |
