A customer called in with this problem: He has an AlphaStation 250 4/266 running Windows NT 4.0 w/ service pack 2 and Unigraphics v11.1.3. He just installed the latest graphics drivers (tgav41.zip for his ZLXp-E1). When he goes into the UG Drafting module and drags a dimension to a new location, the screen doesn't automatically refresh to clean up the previous dimension location (or intermediate drag locations). He has to use the MB3 menu option REFRESH to clean up the screen. He said this problem did NOT occur on the same machine when he was running Windows NT 3.51 with the same graphics card and the tga driver for NT 3.51. He's running the UG session in XWI mode (vs. OGL). When he rotates the model in wireframe display mode, it works fine...it doesn't leave any trace graphics on the screen, and a manual REFRESH is NOT needed. Any ideas on why this is happening ? He has the CONTROL PANEL setting for "...show contents of window while dragging" OFF. Thanks, Bill Donahue Technical Application Helpdesk

We're looking into this problem. There had been extensive testing done on site at UG w/ the v4.1 driver w/o problems. We're getting further information on the UG software version and whether or not SP2 is a factor(we did the testing w/ SP1). Kathleen
1272.2 | machine type is AlphaStation 255 | ALLVAX::DONAHUE | Mon Apr 07 1997 17:42 | 15
Correction to 1272.0... Customer problem is on an AlphaStation 255/233...he hasn't tried the driver on his AS250 machines yet. When he first installed NT 4.0 on the AS255, he tried UG v11.1.2 with the tga v4.0 driver...but that's when the problem first reared it's head. He then upgraded UG to V11.1.3 and problem still occured. He's now at UG v11.1.3 with tga v4.1...and problem is still there. The Unigraphics certification table, SFB-WNT-346 , lists testing for the Powerstorm 4d20 and 3d30 (which use the tga driver), so I'm not sure if the ZLXp-E1 was included in that testing suite. Also, he has Hummingbird Exceed v5.1.3 installed...if that helps any. |
