Originally posted in note 1237.0. Update here with new symptoms.
A university customer has 16 AlphaStation 200 4/166 systems with 32 MB memory
and L1 cards. They are all running DU 4.0b, O3D 4.2, and 3.8 firmware.
When running Netscape ( V3.0 that comes with DU4.0b), the systems hang several
times a day.
To see if the problem was too little memory, we increased one system to 64MB.
That system now crashes, but only about 1-2 times per day.
The customer is interested in buying more systems but will not consider Digital
until we show them a system that works. This problem has existed since the customer
started running a Netscape version greater than 1.0. That was several months ago.
Crash data from a recent crash is provided below.
