  Cover Letter for ECO #022 for Digital Open3D Version 4.3 for
  Digital UNIX Version 4.0

  Installation Overview

  This is ECO #022 for Digital Open3D[TM] Version 4.3, running on Dig-
  ital UNIX(R) operating system Version 4.0.  This ECO may be used by 
  customers who have already installed:

     Digital Open3D Version 4.3 for Digital UNIX Version 4.0a, 4.0b,
     or 4.0c

  This ECO includes a single subset, to be installed using the setld
  command. (See the Digital Open3D Installation Guide for Digital UNIX
  Systems) For this ECO, the subset is located in /<mount-point>/O3D431/kit
  and consists of one mandatory subset.

  ECO #022 should not be installed on any UNIX operating sytem version,
  or Open3D version, not listed above.

  ECO #022 is required only for AlphaStations running Computervision's
  CADDS5 v7.0 product and using either a PowerStorm 4D40T, a 4D50T or
  a 4D60T. ECO #022 is recommended for any AlphaStation with a Pow-
  erStorm 4D40T, a 4D50T or a 4D60T graphics option. It is not needed
  for any other graphics devices. (In fact, it will not install on any
  AlphaStation that has not previously installed support for the Pow-
  erStorm 4DxxT devices from Open3D v4.3.)

  Problem Fixed: Computervision CADDS5 v. 7.0 crash, 2048x2048 textures

  ECO #022 fixes a crash in CADDS5 v. 7.0 which can happen on enter-
  ing "shadenowire" mode.  On graphics devices with 32MB or more of tex-
  ture memory, there was a potential for display corruption or an X
  Server hang when trying to use 2024x2048 textures.  This has been fixed
  with this ECO.

    We have an updated driver for the PowerStorm 3D30 and
    4D20 that may help with a problem on AS 255's.  This
    problem may show up as a hang or a system crash.  This
    new driver is recommended for AS 255's with PowerStorm
    3D30 or 4D20, running UNIX 3.2G and Open3D v3.4.
    
    The updated file is available on:

    This file should be copied to
    
         /sys/BINARY
     as
         /sys/BINARY/tga.o
    
    replacing the existing "tga.o" file (which can be re-named
    and restored later, if necessary or desired).
    
    
    Since this is a new driver, the kernel has to be re-built
    and then the system re-booted.
