Is there a CD player available that will allow you to redirect output to the Sound Card? The current player only works through the headphone jack on the front of the machine. Maybe freeware? MP

It's not the software that controls this. You need a physical connection from the CDROM to the sound card. Likely a decent manual for the CDROM or the soundcard will explain how to do this. I'm not sure of the connections or cables needed myself. PeterT | |||||
486.2 | audio mixer not supported | BGSDEV::MORRIS | Tom Morris - Light & Sound Engineering | Tue Feb 11 1997 21:28 | 15 |
The audio codec chip has a mixer which sets the relative gains of the Wave Out, Line In, and Synthesizer signals. This mixer isn't supported by MMS and the Line In port of the mixer is muted (never fed to Line Out). There has been discussion of running AlphaVCR in Live mode or a simple application which copies the audio data from Line In to Line Out, but these are ugly hacks. The product managers are the keepers of the priority list if you'd like to see something done about this. Tom |
