3227.0. "Benefit Concert for a fellow Musican!" by ASABET::pelkey.ogo.dec.com::pelkey (professional hombre) Mon Aug 26 1996 09:37
(Note to mod: Coop, if you think this needs to be moved to the
GIGING note, feel free to do so... I think it's kind
of important so I wanted to make a new topic for this)
Benefit Concert for Jim Plamondon.
September 27th at the Italian Center. Leominster Mass
Music by: The Memphis project, Midlife Madness, and Ruff Cut
Doors open at 7:30
Tickets are $10.00 advanced sale, $12.00 at the door.
Fellow Guitarist, your support is needed...
My wifes brother Jim, has Cancer. He's most likely terminal.
With any luck he'll get another 24 months. At this point
only a miracle will keep him here for longer. Realistically,
he's not planning on being here by next summer.
Jim (35, father of 3) is one of us (as in a musician). A mighty
Fine bass player/singer and one of the nicest guys I've ever had
the pleasure of working the club circuit with. When he was
healthy, he was a lot of fun to be around, to see him today, and
see what this disease has taken from him is just heart breaking.
Along with his wife Jodi, and his three kids, they've been fighting
Cancer for about 3 years now. Sadly it seems his fight is close to
an end.
Neither Jimmy or Jodi are able to work full time at this point.
(He's just too weak, and she's basically his nurse at this point.)
So like everyone, they too have bills, and no real means of meeting
their obligations.
So for what ever it's worth, Jim's family and friends are mustering
up a Benefit in Jim and his Families honor to help in what ever
financial needs they may have. (and they have many at this point)
Along with my current band; The Memphis Project, Midlife Madness,
and Ruff Cut are donating their time for the evening. Music will
range from classic to new country, a tribute to Evlis Presley, top
40 FM rock as well as good old classic rock and roll.
Please find it in your heart to help us make this benefit sucessful
for Jim by giving a little bit of time, and a little bit of cash,
and a little bit of human kindness, this could be one of the last,
truely great evenings Jim and Jodi will have together.
