3212.0. "Steven Livengood Guitars" by SSDEVO::LAMBERT (We ':-)' for the humor impaired) Wed Jun 26 1996 11:34
I met Steve Livengood by way of a referral for a guitar repair. He's a
real nice guy (could be Greg House's brother, if you ever met him) as well
as an excellent acoustic guitar builder. He apprenticed under (mumble,
mumble - somebody help me here), another very well known (obviously!)
custom builder here in CO.
Steve has now struck out on his own with several styles of acoustic
guitars, both classical and steel string. His basic instruments are
styled after Ramirez and Martin OM and D designs, respectively. He uses
Indian rosewood, (I've forgotten which type of) spruce, and other hand
selected woods. I got to play a OM-type demo unit. Extremely nice,
with a full sound in all registers. Very crisp sounding, and of course,
a breeze to play.
Prices start around $1700-2200. I have no financial interest in this
operation, am simply reporting what I've seen.
