Today, I just dug up my Yamaha SE700HE which has been sitting in a
chipboard case for the last year or so.
The strings were rust city, as well as some of the pickup mounting
hardware and bridge saddles. I grabbed a can of Finger-ease and sprayed
and wiped off the strings as well possible.
I then hit the power switch on the powerstrip and watched what passes
for my 'rig' come to life, and plugged the wireless jack into the
guitar.
Despite the relatively minor intonation problem caused by those awful
strings (which probably should've sounded much worse), the guitar sounded
really sweet and warm. Funny, I don't remember this guitar sounding
so good when I put it away...
Normally, I keep only 1 electric well-strung(tm) and ready to play.
For the last year that electric was an Ibanez RG-570 with the killer-fast
neck. Now, I think I'm gonna bring this Yamaha axe out of hibernation, and
restring it and start playing her again.
This is kinda like marrying a woman, getting divorced after 10 years,
dating a younger, faster woman for a year, and then going back to
remarry the first woman. Pretty sick! Huh?

Actually, I'm sort of blessed... I've got 4 electrics. Ibanez Mc400 (Meat-n-Potatoes axe) Fender Telecaster Fender Strat Midi Guitar.. I like having the 4 guitars to play, so I keep em strung and ready all the time.. A little expensive on the upkeep, but it's nice to have the different sound, and touch charactistics of the four electrics. /r

Oh, should also note... The Midi guitar is also equipped with a standard guitar pickup thang... Humbucker with a s.c. in the front.... not a bad playing/sounding axe in it's own right... but -- the Midi makes it pretty wild to putz around with,.., /r
