I just found out today that it was Nirvana doing that song.
Is this a Kurt song, or post-Kurt?
[For all I know, I have the album this song is on and don't
even realize it. 8^)]

re: .1
Me thinks it's pre-death. AAF said it's part of an unplugged cd that
was sold last year ??? It was done in a club, you can hear the clapping
in the back round once the song is done.
Great sound though, do we agree on this one GTI? Don't forget that
Eric did start this unplug stuff.

Did you ever consider why these artists are doing all of these
"unplugged" concerts?
Because of all the studio effects used on the albums. They
can't possibly recreate them all and get them to sound good
live, so they say "Well, we'll do an acoustic set so we can
disguise the fact that 17 processors, all at least as big as
a PDP-11 but with only 1/2 the signal delay [8^)] were used
to record the album [to try and get as natural a sound as
possible 8^)] and we can't fit them all on stage".
As for Clapton specifically, he sucks anyways, and has to try
anything he can to try and get his stuff to sound good. And
he can use the "acoustic" crap as a disguise if he happens to
blow it royally.

real good blues stuff have you heard of him?

first 'official' unplugged concert (i.e. MTV) was done by Paul McCartney
wasn't it?

I think the "Unplugged" version of "Layla" constitutes "blowing it
royally".
The only cover in the last 10 years that elicits a hurl almost as
fast is the "Baby I Love Your Way/Freebird" abomination done by
"Boy and Girl".

Definitely!!
It doesn't even sound like the same song to me ... how can you
take a classic rocker and do that to it? It should be illegal,
in addition to being obviously unethical.

about it until now. 8^)

Hay! what happened to the cords for Lake of Fire. I knew once you got
started GTI you'ed blow the s**t out of it.
I know, I know shut the **** up and go listen to Clapton, right GTI.
On the subject of bad unplugged covers ET had, I think it was
Mallisa Entridge <-sp, doing a bad cover of a Zepplin song. Some
stuff should be left alone. Maybe like me trying to pick up
Lake Of Fire.

3030.11 | They're plugged in anyway | ANGST::BECK | Paul Beck | Wed Jan 25 1995 12:36 | 9 |
| I've liked some of the unplugged sessions, but then I'm not that big
a fan of electric instruments to start with. Two problems with the
unplugged sessions is (1) the players often don't seem very familiar
with acoustic instruments (i.e. their dynamics), and (2) they're
plugged in anyway. When was the last time you saw them playing
"Unplugged" into a microphone. They've generally got the built-in
piezo pickups, and I've yet to hear one that comes out sounding like
an acoustic guitar after it's in. (I've got one in my mandolin
bridge, and I've used it about twice.)

When your through with your Hooked on Phonics tape, try a spelling
one!
Didn't you buy a Tape player with variable speed? Try using that. It's
possible that he uses a different tuning for that song. He lowers the
E string to a D on Heart Shaped Box.

Actually, you mispelled two words. "Hay" is dried grass, "hey" is
what you say to get someone's attention. And once we get you
past the spelling, we can start working on the punctuation and
grammar:
>Ted, OK I mis-spelled one word, cord, should have been chord. Happy!
