| I don't have either of the ART units you mention, but I used to have a
MIDI guitar rig and can give you some general starting troubleshooting
pointers. First off, make sure the MIDI cable is connected right, MIDI
OUT of the X-15 to MIDI IN of the SGX. Next check the X-15 and find
out what MIDI channel number it's broadcasting on, set the SGX to
recieve on either that channel or OMNI (all channels).
Try a patch change on the X-15. If it still doesn't work, try hooking
the x-15 to another effect that takes MIDI control and see if it's
working. If that works, something's wrong in the SGX and you can start
looking farther there. If not, try a different MIDI controller (maybe
a local store would allow you to test one), if that changes patchs on
the SGX, then the problem's in the X-15.
Check the MIDI map in the SGX to make sure that all the patch numbers
aren't routed to one certain one or something... I had some patch
numbers that'd reroute to a different one on my old Mp-1, which I
purchased used. Confused me no end until I figured out about MIDI
mapping!
Get a MIDI analyzer and see what the X-15's sending.

| I'VE ALMOST GOT IT!
Thanks for the input Greg but since I'm such a determined
suvanagun I sat down with my toys till 2:AM last night and actually
got the effects to work and with headphones on was like being in a
different dimension!
The only problem I've got left is to get these different copied
presets, i.e., numbers 195, 196, 197, 198, 199, & 200 to get stored in
the Foot Controller [X-15] so I don't have to keep turning the knob on
the SGX!
This is NOT a life & death situation but just wanted to be able to
have my shit together for rehearsal Saturday and the other guitar
player in my band is a Wiz at this stuff so whatever technical issues
I have WILL get resolved!
I've got two 100 Watt amplifiers, 50 Ft. apart, and when I plug
everything together the sound, I.M.O., is just phenominal and I'm in
Heaven!
Think we're gonna call ourselves "TEMPORARY INSANITY" and if you
like Pearl Jam's style......that's us!
Gotta be insane to even contemplate it but on the other hand what
else is there, and it's ORIGINAL!
THANX AGAIN..........

| JUST A REHEARSAL SPACE!
We spent months lookin' for rehearsal spaces from Worcester to
Boston and they just wanted TOO much money for too little!
Found a place underneath a bank in Framingham. It's rented out by
a drummer we know for $200.00 a month and we split it with him!
It's safe, soundproof, cozy, alot of space and don't think we could
of found a better deal!
Takes me an hour to get to rehearsals but then we rehearse from
10:AM til 10:PM and since we LOVE it, it's NOT work!
We also have a P.A. that we rent for $50.00 a month so between 4
guys that comes to $37.50 a piece for both.
A real small investment I'd say to invest in my dreams!
Don't Give Up!

| Yes. ...and yes.
Even if you don't have wha-wha built in, you can assign the pedal
to your favorite EQ band, and wiggle that...I liked that better
than the wha that was built in to my ole MP2. All you need is
MIDI CC.
