For you Jazz guitarist, I'm considering the purchase of a new guitar. Since I'm a jazz enthusist I'm looking at Gibson L5's and others in that range of quality. I've also heard friends of mine mention the Washburn Jazz Series guitars. Have any of you musicians heard of, seen, or had the opportunity to play any instruments of this brand. If so drop me a line. I'd like to know more about them. Rick

Guitar Player had a review of Jazz boxes in one of the recent issues. One of manufacturers they mentioned as good value was washburn. They offered an electric archtop for well under $1000. A comment from Washburn, was they were so popular, they couldn't keep em in stock. I don't recall the model number but it may be worth checking out as an entry level jazz guitar. I also test drove a used Epiphone Joe Pass at a recent guitar show. It was going for less than $400. It struck me as pretty good value for the money. It didn't last long. |
