I recently picked up a 50 watt Dean Markley practice amp from a pawn shop. What I thought was going to be just a practice amp is challenging my 100 watt marshall JCM 800. I mean this amp screams. Has anybody else had as much luck with Dean Markley amps, This thing is stage worthy to the max. Happy Dean Markley owner!!

Bobby Durham! How the heck are ya? Yeah, my 35w practice amp is a killer. I've used it in small clubs ans many jams! Good to hear from ya! Steve
2842.2 | I have a 12 watt DM | DREGS::BLICKSTEIN | DOS Boot | Wed Oct 27 1993 08:29 | 17 |
I have a little 12 watt solid state job. I walked into a store in Cambridge (MA) with no intention of buying anything, played this thing and was fairly highly impressed at how cheap it was and how decent its sound was. At the time, I had my Boogie downstairs (which gets cold in the winters and takes awhile for the heat to really come on) but did most of my practicing upstairs. I wasn't really looking for an amp, but I came across that DM and said "gee, this is pretty decent sound and at a pretty decent price" so I picked it up. I wouldn't use it at gigs (not nearly loud enough) but considering that I can pick the thing up WHILE I've got my guitar on and plugged into it and walk into any room I feel like practicing in, I'd say it's close to ideal for a practice amp. db

I've been using this 50 watt with the current band I'm jamming with. We did some recording the other night. The thing sounds real decent on tape. I would assume that it's stage worthy, but that remains to be seen. I'm thinking of using that and my 100 watt marshall in stereo. Might be a pretty good mix of tones. Thanks for the reply Dave and Steve D. |
