I would have liked a few more color shots, but I'm being greedy;
there are still quite a few good ones. Otherwise, it's packed
full of detail about the history of the instrument, some of the
early players, construction, identification, setup tips, advice
for players, you name it. More info about Nationals than has ever
been assembled in one place and more than you'll probably ever need
or want. Everything you've read or heard about this book is true.
One interesting item: Bob is very favorable on the current Nationals
being built (although not necessarily the current Dobros; a different
company). Evidently he's given them a lot of input, particularly
regarding their resonator cones.
