I also heard he was being looked at for the Chili Peppers

| I'm not as familiar with the Dokken material as I am Lynch Mob, but I love
Lynch Mob, he smoked. Truely a great player and after reviewing his lesson
tape I could tell he layed back when appropriate and was musical rather then
just churn and burn. I was looking forward to another Lynch Mobb album which
I thought should have been due soon...
Has anyone heard his solo, I think it's call "Exotic eroitica"?
I may have to get a copy

I don't know if they considered him or not, but I do know that the
Chili's have already gotten a new guitar player. Saw it on MTV News
last weekend. It wasn't Lynch and I don't remember his name...

| I have an old Dokken video (aprox. 1 hour) & his playing is good, but
doesn't stand out like on the later stuff.
Gee, I hope he's still alive.

| I saw Dokken open up for Triumph in '83 and they were really good. It
was right after they released Tooth and Nail (I think, maybe the one
before that). I was very impressed.

impressive even for an opening act.

| I saw Lynch with Dokken (who were opening for LoverBoy - what a joke).
They were MOST rulin'. I'd say thats what got me into metal to begin
with... Believe it or not, I used to HATE metal.

| What's the name of the Dokken song where he comes crashing through the
wall for the guitar solo in the MTV video ? I think he was using the
"skull" guitar. The title is something about "dreams" I think.
That was the first time I flipped over this band.

That song was called Breakin The Chains.
Good solos by Lynch: - Wicked Sensation - 1st LM
- All I Ever Wanted - 2nd LM

| I saw Dokken again on the first Monsters of Rock tour (with VH
headlining) and they sucked. The broke up right after the tour and the
show I saw was one of the last ones. It was like the people in the
band didn't even acknowledge that the others were on the same stage
playing the same songs. Bored me to death.

2781.14 | Has anyone heard more... | AKOCOA::MINEZZI | | Thu Aug 05 1993 08:56 | 10 |

I am also a big Dokken fan. Last I heard, George Lynch was "hoping"
that Dokken could get things back together.
From the Immortal words of Jeff Pilson "We were going to call the band
the Perisian Gentlemen, but, Dokken rhymed with Rockin'"
Any more on this rumor?

us...
I had a few Dokken albums, I liked his style.....
Nothing will ever effect me like Steve Ray's untimely death...

| I agree with Bob Durham that the vid you are thinking of is
Breaking The Chains - He was running around un-chaining his
band mates by smacking his (skull-ESP) and breaking the chains.
They also had a video called "In My Dreams" which is what made me
buy the album - It's got the band playing in the rain (zap!).
Cool toon!
Then there was "It's Not Love" which has the band on a trailer
truck cruising down Sunset Blvd. in H-wood. Cool vids!
Lynch really shined with early Dokken, but got a little bit into
rehashing the same old tricks with LynchMob, IMHO. L-M was still
more popular though.

2781.18 | Dokken live ?? | SUBSYS::GODIN | My other preamp is a Tri-Axis. | Fri Aug 06 1993 07:03 | 14 |
| It was either "Breaking the Chains" or "In My Dreams". The problem is
that the video I have has both of these tunes & neither one has that
scene. I think it's different from the MTV video. It may also be a
different version of the song(s) because I don't recall the "smokin'"
solo from the vid. I'll have to check it out again soon.
So, what's the *real* story? Is Lynch still alive or what ?
Don't lie to me, 'cuz I'll call him up myself if I have to!

| Hey, a couple of weeks ago, my wife got me some discounted CD's without
knowing what they really were. One was Patty Smyth's first solo album
"Never Enough", GREATTTT ! The other one which she bought because of
the picture on the cover (!) I just got around to listening to ....
"Wicked Sensation" by Lynch Mob. I had to explain who George Lynch was
(is) while it was playing. The album had only a few memorable tunes on it,
but the guitar work was axcellent !

I know that in the "In my dreams" song/video, there IS a smoking solo...
he does a little decending scale run that screams, great sounding solo
also...

Fellow Lynch Fans,
I'm feeling pretty strongly that this is just another
ugly rumor going around. I haven't heard one word on the radio.
It would be all over the air if it were true. I heard he's working
on a solo effort....
