	The come-on for the Berklee Summer Camp has arrived in my mailbox.

Berklee Summer Guitar Sessions

	Los Angeles	July 25-30, 1993
	Boston		August 15-20, 1993

	"Take a week with Berklee this summer and
	take your playing to the next level"


	The Berklee Summer Guitar Sessions emphasize practical playing
experience thru a variety of clinics and performance activities for
today's guitar player. All participants will be placed in performance
ensembles with guitarists of similar training and ability. All classes
and ensembles will be taught by Berklee's regular guitar faculty.

Schedule of Sessions

	The session begin on Sunday afternoon and end on Friday night.
Each day's schedule will include workshops, style labs, and ensembles.
All participants will play in group settings with professional bass
players and drummers on staff for the program. Throughout the week
special clinics will be held, including: How to Practice, Use of Effects,
Jazz Guitar Comping, Role of the Guitar in the Rock Rhythm Section,
Jazz Guitar Styles, Rock Guitar Styles, and others.

Guitar Sessions Scholarships

	A limited number of full-tuition scholarships are being provided
by the Fender Musical Instrument Corporation. If you are interested in
applying for one of these scholarships, please send us a cassette tape
of your playing (see General Information below). We would also like to
thank Fender for supplying amplifiers for use in the sessions.

General Information

	Tuition, room, and board is $550. Living on campus is strongly
encouraged but if you choose to commute, tuition without room and board
is $375.

	The application deadline is June 18 for LA and July 19 for Boston
and there is a $25 application fee. You are strongly encouraged, but not
required, to submit a cassette tape recording with three short excerpts
of your best playing the style you wish to study at the sessions (blues,
jazz, rock). The tapes will be used for program placement and scholarship
consideration. These should accompany your application. Students should
be at least 15 years old by July 25, 1993. Amplifiers will be available
but you may bring your own if you wish.

	The Boston session will be held on the campus of Berklee College
of Music. The Los Angeles sessions will be held on the campus of
Claremont-McKenna College.
