The town of Billerica, MA will be celebrating it's annual
Homecoming weekend again this year. This is a traditional
New England style hometown celebration featuring such
activities as a huge parade, Fireman's muster, Native American
and Colonial Minuteman encampments, Pancake breakfast,
cooking contests and numerous activities for children and
plenty of food.
Of course a celebration would not be complete without a
healthy dose of appropriate music for the occasion, hence
JAM-FEST-93.
JAM-FEST-93 is designed to provide a gathering place for
professional and amateur musicians and singers of traditional
American acoustic music. If you play and/or sing FOLK, BLUEGRASS,
COUNTRY, GOSPEL, BLUES, BARBERSHOP, JAZZ, OLE TIMEY etc etc,
then you are invited to bring yourself and your family and
participate in JAM-FEST-93.
There are no performance requirements, no stages, no micro-
phones, no schedules, no pressures. You or your group simply
show up, pick a location on the lawn that looks comfortable
to you and proceed to do your musical thing. JAM-FEST-93 is
all voluntary, informal, family orientated and a great way
for everyone to meet other musicians and singers while helping
to keep acoustic music alive and well.
