2717.0. "Latest multieffects????" by KAOFS::P_DESOUZA () Wed Apr 28 1993 11:11

What is the latest HAppenin' multieffects pedal out there. I have
checked out the Korg A4(with built in tuner), the Boss ME10 and the
DigiTech RP1. I prefer the latter two because of a direct AC plug
wheras the A4 uses a wall wart(high failure item!!!). The RP1 and the
ME10 have been around for about two years so there must be a newer
version out there or around the corner. The music store mentioned
    something about DDL(?) technology....

Please share your thoughts or advice.

I went with the A4 based on the quality of the effects and the
addition of a built in tuner AND external controls that can
switch you amp channels via program control. FWIW - the other guitar
player in my band picked up an A4 last week to use with his 5150
amp - what a NICE combination! I hooked up a MIDI cable and did a
dump of all my user presets to his A4.

I don't like wall warts either, but they are easy to replace. I'm
thinking about getting an extra one and mounting it in my REXX rack so
it is easier to cable up. I'll have an extended power cable and the
external switching wires all tied together.

2717.2I don't need a tunerKAOFS::P_DESOUZAMon May 03 1993 12:545
The only advantage the A4 has is the tuner. I already have a tuner.
Sound/versatility is about the same as the ME10 and the RP1

do someone know how much the Roland ASD3000 delay and the H3000 cost?
What store do they carry in Mass? I'm not too sure about the name, if
I had wrong spell correct me. I heard these guitar effect are very good
that's why I write this note here, wanna know more about them.

    Thanks,

I wrote up my impressions of the RP-1 in the topic by the same name.
Check it out if you wish. If it had at least 2 secs. of delay (instead
of 1) and a pitch shifter, I would've owned one 2 years ago.

    Re: -1

That's the Roland SDE-3000 (delay unit) and Eventide H3000
(harmonizer). I'm not sure where they carry them in Mass., but you're
looking at a minimum of $3,500 worth of gear there.

For both. The Roland SDE-3000 lists for $1,000. The Eventide H3000
lists for around $3,000. If you bought both from the same dealer, you
would get some sort of break. We're talking grade A studio gear here.

FWIW, the H3500 is the current model of the Eventide harmonizer line.
I believe the H3000 has been discontinued.

I have a Roland SDE3000 that I'd part with for significantly less than
$1000. Make me an offer. I use it for both recording & occasional
rehearsals. I got right after they came out, & it's still a state of
    the art piece.
