I have a Seymore Duncan Invader pickup that I'm putting into a guitar. The old pickup had three wires Red- white_ copper_ (bare wire-ground?) The replacement pickup (the Invader) has 5 wires for the option of having a split coil switch. I would like to just wire it up for the basic humbucking mode (no split coils). The wires are: red- white- silver- (bare wire) Black- green- My question is simply , what wires do I connect to get this guitar/pickup combination going ? any suggestions ? Thanks.. Gonzo

The typical connexion is : Black+shield(silver..) : Ground Red+White : solder and tap Green : Hot.(Volume Pot.) If the pickup is out of phase with the other one, just swap Black and Green wires (solder Shield and Green) or turn the magnet from 180 degrees (take care of the wires if you do that...) J.P. |
