2671.0. "Value for Martin and Gibson" by LMOADM::LEVIN (Mother Nature is a wild woman) Tue Jan 26 1993 13:17
A friend has a couple of guitars he's looking to sell and would be
interested in getting a value for each...
A Gibson SG Firebrand, mahogany color finish, made in approximately the
late '70s.
A Martin Acoustic, 1931, all mahogany, small body, 00-17.
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks,
Suegene

| Try George Gruhn in Nashville or Mandolin Brothers in New York.
If they will not give valuations, you could get on their mailing lists
for their lists of vintage instruments to see how much the sort of
thing your friend has is selling for.
You will of course have to take into account what a shop will buy for,
how much it will sell for and what you might ask when placing an ad in
your local paper.
Hope this gives you something to think about.

| A vintage dealer will get $800 or more for an 00-17 in very good
condition.
A couple of hundred for the SG if it's mint.
