Hi, I'm new to this notesfile - gotta lot of interestin' reading to do...
Has anyone heard/know anything about DAION guitars. I bought my acoustic
about 10 years ago when I gave up playing electrics in bands. I think its a
LEGEND model (can't remember that well !)
I remember spending much of a day in various music stores in Birmingham
comparing Yamaha's, Washburns (sp ?) before chosing the DAION....
I heard someone say they thought this make was a Japanese Martin - made
under licenece or something like that....
In all the years of looking in the shops I have never seen another one. Do
you know better ?

I remember seeing ads in GUITAR PLAYER and FRETS for the Daion. I don't believe that they were associated with Martin. I played a used one at the Mandoline Brothers once. It was styled after the Martin OO-18 - a grand concert size instrument. The one I played was nice, with a nice neck, simple appointments, resonable sound. For the money, it seemed like a decent guitar at the time. I don't know if Daion is still in business. I doubt it since I haven't seen anything about them for years. Paul | |||||

My brother-in-law has a Daion Guitar. He has told me the company that made
them stopped about 7 years ago. It's a nice guitar, he said he wouldn't
part with it.....maybe for a Martin :)
