2595.0. "DBX153 EQ Info request" by RESYNC::D_SMITH () Thu Sep 17 1992 11:05

    Anyone familiar with the DBX 1531P 1/3-2/3 Equalizer?

    I have an opportunity to pick up a few of these units and
    would like opinions on it's performance and what I should expect to pay
    for such a new/used unit.

    Also, anyone familiar with converting line level to low level so I could
    have the option to connect one of these to my home stereo system using
    tape in/out? Would this be an active or a passive conversion.

    Any info appreciated!
    Thanx, Dave'

     Dave,
     I've used the DBX 1531 and I liked it alot. They go for ~$325 new.
     No need to convert signal levels, the tape in/outs, and aux's on
     all home stereo stuff are line inputs, same on the DBX.

     	Signal levels
     Instrument level (guitar, bass) - ~.1V or 100mV RMS
     Line level - 1V (2.8V p-p)
     Spkr level - ~10V and up

     Hey, were you in Woodrose?

I think that IS the same Dave Smith that was in Woodrose.
He taught me how to set up my intonation in Southville
at their practice place !!

Hi Dave.

Man - that was YEARS ago!

    WOW...where the hell did you guess come from? Now if I could only
    remember who the hell you are! Of course, faces always ring a bell.
    Don't make me feal real old now! Yes that was some time ago.
    They (Steve/Greg) are presently known as BANZAI, which has gone no
    further since the day I left in 1989. That EP was in 1985 on our Attitude
    Records label. I've been looking for a new group lately but no luck. If
    you should hear anything, pass it myway!

    Anyways, thanx for that EQ info though.
    Didn't no much about that EQ other than it has a pretty face and can be
    worked out on the easy payment plan.

2595.5I had one for a short timeMILKWY::JACQUESVintage taste, reissue budgetThu Sep 17 1992 14:148
    I owned one for about a week. Mine had a problem and was making
    a loud clicking noise through my PA.

    It's a very deep unit (about 18" from front to back) and didn't
    fit into my efx rack very well. Other than that, it seemed like
    a nice unit.
