2545.0. "Ovation Prices" by CCIIS1::ROGGEBAND (_ hilie _) Wed Jul 01 1992 09:58

    Hi,

I'm thinking about getting an Ovation Electro acoustic, and was
wondering if someone could tell me what the prices of the Ovation
Custom Legend and (for interest's sake) the Ovation Elite are in the US
and in the UK? (I'll probably go for the legend...)

I live in France, if the price difference is consequent, it may be
    worth the trip !!!

    Musically yours,

    Philippe.

I don't have a catalog in front of me, but the folks at Mandolin Bros
have pretty good prices on Ovation. You may want to get their catalog
or call them. Here's the info:

    	Mandolin Bros.
    	629 Forest Ave.
    	Staten Island, NY 10310

    Thanks Paul,

Will they send me a catalog if I write to them, or do I have to include
    some $$$$ ?

Does anyone have an idea of prices in the U.K.?

    amicalement / musicalement,

Yesterday I bought the Ovation Celebrity for 400 inc a hard case. Very
Nice guitar but the next one up was 600. Bit out of my price league.

    Thanks Tony,

I'll check with my manager when he plans to send me to the U.S. (if
ever !!) It's definitely cheaper than here. Is there any duty to pay
when leaving the U.S. with an instrument if it's yours?

Err... dunno. You may be able to 'proove' it yours I guess.

You may want to check further on this... I think the burden is not so
much to prove that the instrument is yours (the presumption is that it
SHOULD be, else you wouldn't be walking about with it), but that you
had it with you when you ENTERED the USA/LEFT the UK.

The duty would be applicable if you purchased it in the USA and
returned with it (or shipped it back).

    Hi,

Well, it looks like I'll be in the U.S end of september, so I'll
probably go ahead and buy the Ovation Custom Legend. Can anyone
recommend a store in the Boston Area (or even better in the Maynard /
Littleton/ Merrimack /Nashua perimeter) ? Also, if I could have some
indication of prices for the Legend ?

Are music stores open on sunday in the U.S ?

Thanks for your help, I can't wait to get my hands on this instrument.

    Musically yours,

    hR.
